No mods yet. I've only managed to change a few items in terms of coding. I updated my Navigation maps to 2017-1 data and added a Tune2Air for bluetooth streaming for music. Outside of that, I've just been waiting for my plates to arrive so I can drive it as a CA's registered car!

After that is done, I'm planning to order my parts to get the rod bearings done.

Hey Derbo, I can't recall the whole thread discussion... But are you planning on turning a non ZCP car into a ZCP car? Or at least reprogramming the EDC to act like the competition package EDC? Hoping you get the gist of my question. I know others have chimed in on this thread attempting to do that very thing which could open up all E90 2011's if one could hypothetically duplicate the vehicle for a somewhat limited cost.

Ahh yes. I was planning to do the latter: Code the EDC to ZCP settings. I planned on doing Swift springs instead of ZCP springs and going with Apex EC7s instead of ZCP Wheels in the future which will negate the ZCP rims and springs.

There are some caveats to this coding that I am not sure on.

1. ZCP EDC Struts/Shocks are different part numbers and from what I dug around, I believe the perch is slightly different height due to the 10mm drop from the ZCP Springs. However, I am unable to confirm this difference as it.
2. ZCP EDC coding is indeed possible to the STD EDC. The module will accept the changes.

Basically this is what you have to do:

#Code EDC to ZCP
Pull EDC module TRC from NCSexpert
Edit all the parameters to include dx09030. Many parameters already list dx09030 so there isn't that many to change. (dx09230 for coupes)
Code in the new MAN file with the updated parameter values.

#Code DSC for EuroMDM
Code:
US_VEHICLE Nicht_aktiv
MDYNAMIC_MODE_USA Nicht_aktiv
M3_UEBERSTUEUERN_MUE_0 wert_00
M3_UEBERSTUEUERN_MUE_1_2 wert_00

Impressive. Can you give an estimate on cost to convert a non ZCP to ZCP? Or your route with Apex etc... I think one of the themes of this thread is, is it possible and how much. Therefore if OP and others wanted to find a non ZCP 2011 M3 with 6MT they can save thousands and do the conversion. Not to mention that his want is truly a unicorn unless he wants to pay EAG a visit.

1. $varies ZCP EDC Coding depending on who does it (could be as cheap as the cable cost)
2. $1600-$3000 ZCP Rims
3. $400-1000 used ZCP EDC Suspension

In my goals, I want something a little more than ZCP and a little more track-orientated.

1. $529 Vorschlag Caster/Camber Kits
2. $320 Swift Spec R Spring set
3. $Free ZCP EDC Coding done by me
4. $1316 18x10 et25 Apec EC-7 rims
5. $1100 Brigestone RE71-R 275/35/18
6. $100 Custom track-spec alignment (hopefully -3,-2 camber F/R)

Roughly under $4000, including any misc stuff like bump stops.

Then I'll be set for track days minus brakes.

My car checks all of the OP's boxes but mileage. Oct 28 build AW E90 6MT ZCP in very good condition. Have been contemplating selling to a good home. PM sent to the OP. Will likely place an official ad if I don't hear back within a week or so.

Interior color? Options? Mileage?

I'm hesitant to turn this into an ad, as I sent this information to the OP via PM for his consideration first, but I will be happy to answer specific questions.

Interior is black leather

It has basically all options, including premium, cold weather, smoker's, technology, etc. as well as sunroof and iDrive.

Mileage is currently 67,000

If there are any further questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

That car is a little rough, and optioned weirdly. (Sunroof/NAV/ZCP, but no heated seats/premium audio.) Also four owners.

I passed on it before the PO traded it yesterday. Maybe I should have bought it (he offered to let me match the trade in), but it’s way too far off the spec I want.

Feel free to PM me for commentary.

Any time you can get a vehicle at trade in price you do have to seriously think about giving up some options, packages, condition etc... But I would agree that you made the right choice as you don't want to regret missing out on your "Dream car". OP has passed up on some nice ones as he is also on a mission, I commend him. Still one of my favorite threads as this has not gone down the road of DCT vs 6MT etc... but it has taken us to some good conversations on converting a non ZCP to a ZCP car etc...

I spent over a month trying to buy it from him and he kept waffling. I wonder how much he ended up getting for it because it's probably less than what I was offering.

Oh well. I'm happier to have heated seats and only 15k miles but no zcp and it was cheaper. Plus my top color choice, le mans blue.

I hate NAV, and I don’t want a sunroof, and I don’t like the color. And while some people like the ZCP, I don’t want EDC. (I’ve got TC Kline D/As to put on.)

I don’t need perfect, but that thing was basically the exact opposite of what I want. And it’s had four owners.

Ah well. Seeing what they are asking did make me wonder if I made the right decision.

mmm TCKline.

Yea I'm a bit torn with EDC. I really like it on the street but I feel the lack of true adjustment to the front and rear dampening will push me towards your route in the future.

The IT/Techie guy in me wants the cool button though..lol

The only way I want car tech is in a leased car. Beyond that, the less, the better!

Thats a good rule if you don't want to deal with fixing tech and the cost of replacement parts.

With EDC, I'm okay with it. If it indeed becomes beyond repair at a reasonable cost, I will delete it.

It's pretty awesome how this thread has gone off the walls into a great discussion thread.

Hmm.. me too!! He did not respond to my txts and emails, and what is werid is that his subsequent cars.com listed it first @ $42k, then dropped it to $39k (when he emailed many in our forum if we are interested), and when I txted back if anything has changed since the last time he listed (a few months back), he responded that mileage went up slight. I then asked if his extended insurance was still part of it, and he did not reply. After three days he said he sold it to EAG.

Apparently EAG paid him cash without asking any questions and were happy with just the pictures he sent.
