i use my moonroof pretty often now .... but if i got an m3, i'd go for the CF roof... after all, no other mass produced car comes with a CF roof from the factory... the only other mass produced car with a cf rood is the M6 .... so you wont be seeing a lot of cars on the street with a CF roof. it's going to be something special.

Dont spend the extra money on the coupe if you're gonna get a moonroof. I cant say CF loud enough.

the sedan does not have the option of getting a cf roof. Only the coupe offers it. My opinion is that it is pointless to get the coupe if you want to get a sunroof. This is only my opinion. Like everyone else said cf roofs are rare and imo extremely badass

I think they are independent decisions. Get a coupe or sedan based on whether you need 4 doors or 2 and look preference. If you like the coupe, get a cf or moonroof based on which one you want. I would get a moonroof with black since the roof does not stand out and I love having an open roof here in sunny AZ. Since I am going SSII - cf roof is going to be killer!

Or are you joking?

It's clearly a matter of opinion.

The CF thing is mostly about appearance since virtually no one will notice the weight or COG (even if you drove with and without back-to-back).

Once everyone has CF it will be cool to have painted steel. Other car owners are painting their roofs black to give it the look.

Personally, I'd much rather have the moonroof to enjoy the sun and air but I'm in SoCal where that's possible most of the year.

apparently BMW couldn't figure out which looks better so they offer it both ways... Personally I'm glad I got the CF roof. But both are cool, moonroof keeps car a little quieter looking/more conservative. CF is a little louder and aggressive looking... just my opinion though

CF - Even with a black interior I don't miss the sunroof and it really sets the car apart.
