Custom BBS RSII (Photo Heavy)

Just wanted to share photos my brother took for me. After a little over a year, my wheels are finally done. The original seller (overseas in Warsaw) said he can build it out. Turned out to be a nightmare when I got it 8 months later with imperfections, bends, leaks, and reused old barrels that were redrilled literally to shit. I had no idea how one could think it was ok to drive on. So I shamed him all over social media, got some money back, and sent it out to Sensei6 (my first and original plan) to rebuild it. It went from gold (first color choice) to silver with gold hardware. Brand new barrels were welded this time with hidden valve stem. I also got tpms adapters from them which avoided having to code them out. I used BBS bolts from Japan I bought from another member here (even though no one will be able to see it). BBS valve stem caps, IGL Kenzo coating (I think) by my friend, at this point my attention to detail was out the ass. The center caps were designed by me, I just picked out the BBS caps from their catalog and fabricated the lock to work with them. Mirror Polishing them was a PITA. I've also designed and printed a custom locking handle with BBS logo on them. Once this was all done, I wrapped them in some RE71Rs. All in all, the time and money put into this project, I could have bought BBS FI-Rs with plenty left over. I've been asked was it worth it? My answer, no, but I wasn't going to let this project die. Had it been built right the first time around in a reasonably time? Possibly. So here we are, enjoy the fruit of my labor. I'm gonna go jump off a cliff now.

Edit: I just assembled my build/cost list and determined that the car wasn't a financial mistake. It was the wheels.

Holy shit. Sorry to hear that the process was such an enormous hassle, but on the plus side that’s one of the nicest setups I’ve ever seen.

Thank you! I really wanted a brushed finish face and have seen RSII examples of it. However, it would have taken much longer and it'll cost a lot more. Those guys have much deeper pockets than I do LOL. Someone on here has a set.

These are built on RS714s 19x9.5-10.5, cant remember what the offsets are. Tires are 265-275/35/19.

Thanks for the kind comments everyone.

shimmy23 I feel ya, shame I got my shit together at the end of the season and have to garage the car for the cold season as well. Atleast they're done and ready for spring.

I do like you brush faces tho.

I had a set of these several years ago. They were very pretty wheels but they weighed a ton.

I'll have to weigh mine. They feel lighter than my ZCPs tho.

I love what ya did with the caps. Nicely done! I'm running mini height hex caps.

I'd bet they are comparable but that's not saying much as the ZCP wheels, while beautiful, are certainly not light. When I swapped on my set of Apex wheels, it was like I took 250# out of the car.

That is absolutely gorgeous. I saved just about every picture. So sorry to hear about the struggle. I am relieved you went with the silver instead of gold/bronze. For a red car I think silver or white is a great face on a lipped wheel. This is absolutely killer.

I say it was worth it!

Insane. Silver was the right choice and they turned out incredible! Kudos for your perseverance—lots of people would've given up, but the success stories like this make the end result even more special.
