I pulled the trigger. The dealership is about as good as they come FWIW. They are having a big grand opening party in June so a truck load of my friends and I are going to eat $2000 worth of food and test drive some BMWs. I asked them not to rush on my M3, and I will take good care of their 11 mile old 540i loaner which is so damn comfortable to drive it has me wondering why I drive a 2010. I sold my house so had some money to cover this. Otherwise I would risk many hours in the garage being bothered by my 3 year old and wife doing this myself....priceless.

I gave it a nice wash and wax for Cars & Coffee in the morning.
Washed the body with Meguiar's Gold Class in a pressure washer soap container, dried it using my DeWalt mini blower, then used Meguiar's Quik Wax as a spray wax to wax the car after the wash. |

My alternator is on its way out, blew out my rears in Texas on the way back from NJ. Towed, tires replaced, broke down twice on the way home but made it
10% off, extra $50 for opening a credit account with 9 months deferred @ discount. Extremely good experience with them, watched the entire process. Picked up one of these, will run car until I get another battery discharge warning then replace alternator myself after verifying codes. |

Anytime you open or close a new line of credit it will have an impact on your credit score. Usually opening and closing in a short period of time will be a negative hit. If you open one, pay it off but then don't necessarily close it until you have to - like a yeah or two - you should be fine.

I watched the rain bead off the freshly sealed paint. First time using Chemical Guys Jet Seal. Applied nicely. Hope to top it with some wax tomorrow after a quick wash.

Let the jet seal dry for a full day or two, this way it cures to the paint properly. I've never heard of waxing after sealing, I always assumed sealing was its own form of protection, what's your thinking on that?

I've been planning on trying Obsessed Garage's method of waxing over a sealant. Check out the videos, I'm pretty sure he discusses his logic. It's been a few weeks since I watched.

To the above(s) you can absolutely top sealants with a wax - and should do so in that order
- Clean & correct if necessary - Apply sealant and follow instructions on dry times - You can then apply a 2nd coat of sealant or a first layer of wax. - Then periodic or routine spray wax or spray sealant applications each time you maintenance wash & dry your car |
