6MT gear box fluid

Going to change my gear box fluid. Have ista, so can do it correctly.

Real oem shows LT -3 75w-90.

Is this the fluid that BMW currently recommends?

Or should I look at the sticker on my gearbox , if there is one.

I don't think you need ISTA for the 6MT but check the DIY section

I use Redline D4 ATF,much cheaper at $12.49 per qt.You can use ISTA to run pump to get all fluid out of trans cooler.

I use Royal purple. Ran it on my E46 and now on my E93 with no complaints

Yup, you really do need to run the pump for 20 to 30 seconds when draining the old fluid as there is a lot in the cooler. Also, you need to run the pump again when filling.

I also use Redline D4 ATF and it works great, nice and smooth.

Cheers,

A wise friend told me "I stopped trying to make a slow car go fast. Instead, I bought a fast car." Sound advice.
