Getting close to 40k on my '08.
It hasn't had a single issue other than a bad O2 sensor replaced early on. With that said I'm worried about stuff like this (click). Especially since before the E90 I had an E46 M3 that threw a rod and BMW was of no help. |

I'm surprised that most guys here are having so few problems, I also have a
"to do" list on the car that are: replace some bushing in the car I don't know witch, probley all of them I also have a small felling that I have to change my back oem dampers maybe not this year but defanely next year and then it's not far from changing in the front, I don't know if it's just driving the car for a long time but I think the car feels a little bit chunky and heavy on the road not the felling I had a couple of years ago... and the leather on the driver's seat is begin to wear just a liiitle bit..... the list goes on$$$$$$$$$$ |

Hi mine has 113345 km / 71000miles and small little problems. Faulty feul gauge at 30000miles, new lower control arms 60000 miles, some small rattle in the dash on rough tar mmm but thats about it still I love my car and goes like the clappers!! I redline my car almost every gear and drive fast and corner 25% sideways whenever its save (1 in 4 corners hence my username) so you can say Im a hard driver. have mods: exaust, intake, pulley, chip flash, superlight wheels and only have one seat so approx 200 pounds less. HOWEVER I never ever drive it hard on startup before the oil has heated to at least 70! Most friction occurs during startup "google it"

08/07 build, looks like I'm out in the lead with 80,632 miles as of this morning. Daily driver with no major issues, I do not track this car. At 100K next year I plan to change spark plugs, differential fluid, brake fluid, the brake pads and my yearly set of vredesteins.

2008 e93 with just over 12,000 miles, purchased at 10,500
I pulled the service history, the notable entries: 2 x 1200 Mile Service entries on different dates, is that normal? "M3 Reprogram for DCT" "Idle regulating valve permanent malfunction" "Roof functions centre FZD loose" "Switch cluster/central console operating unit sticking/jammed" Factory warranty goes up in August, purchased a USAA - Assurant Solutions extended warranty that lasts for 6 years or 75k miles, was about $1800. |

They replace that whole piece I think. It detaches from the main part of the steering wheel.

54000 miles.
Vibrating steering wheel since the car was new. Dealer says nothing can be done. Occasional loud whine when between 1-2K RPM, especially after hard cornering, dealer "can't reproduce the problem." Rubber molding around front doors wore out/split open 3 times (drivers side) and 1 time (passenger side). I-drive knob fell off. Less than ideal 1->2 shift (MT). Drinks a quart of oil every 4K miles. No other problems. Still drives great. Mix of highway and stop and go traffic. Some "spirited" driving on N. Calif. hilly roads west of I 280. |

Have 53k on mine no major problems. I don't track it and drive it spiritedly. I had to replace the TPM antenna and just regular maintenance other than that. Car still drives very strong.
What's this about engines blowing up? Anyone! |

The steering wheel vibration is mainly at highway speed, especially around 75 mph. Doesn't matter what the pavement is.
I've had the vibrations with the 18" OEM wheels and PS2s and Sumitomo after markets, the 19" OEM wheels and PS2s and Continental after markets. I've had multiple alignments and balancings, at the dealer and at Dinan, none of which has done anything meaningful. The dealer techs (BMW of Mountain View and Stevens Creek) have gone on rides with me and acknowledged the vibration but have said that it is "normal" and they can't do anything about it. The instructors at the M performance driving school laughed at the suggestion that steering wheel vibration was normal but I have given up and learned to live with it. I seem to remember that others with 08s on this forum had the same problem at the same speed but it sounds like either they have gotten the problem resolved through balancing/alignment/new wheels or given up, like me. |

2008 m3 6spd with 50k on the clock. Its my daily drive. No track work on this car. Only problem was the abs hydraulic pump/motor. $5k AUD to have repaired as the part was $4500. BMW AG came to the party and went me 50 50 in the replacement as its out of warranty but shouldnt occur with such low mileage. No other issues. Going strong.
