BMW Performance Exhaust M3 @ VIR
If anyone is still on the fence about the BMW performance exhaust watch this and let me know what you think.
... A couple laps around VIR. Watch in HD and turn your speakers up! I am working on a montage of all my GoPro footage that I will post up later this week. Here's another one ...

Haha, yeah, when we first got to the track we realized the right strut weld had cracked, so he ran his e36 m3 on Saturday, but Sunday it was running great until the last session. It sucked all of the radiator fluid out and spit it out of the exhaust, so now they think it has a blown head gasket. Did you see that Subaru that spun out and got hit on saturday during the 11:50 instructor sessions? That was my instructor and i was riding shotgun. That was crazy.

what were you running for a brake setup? I ask cause I'm back in virginia over april and there's a nasa event at summit point main I'm looking at either running or flagging. I've run the main course twice when I had an sti, and just wondering how the oem pads are on the e9x m3's. I would definitely be upgrading fluid and lines before running, but as i'm out in saint louis for grad school and no real tracks here not worth putting the money into a set of track pads right now and not worth paying for an event if the pads are just going to fade after a couple laps.

Sounds great and I love VIR. What a great track!
The BMW performance exhaust sounds very similar to the oem Exhaust mod to me:

Hi Ashley,
Yes, despite the weather (Sunday was great) the weekend was a lot of fun. Seeing all the videos, timed laps (aren't those supposed to be verboten?), I'm wondering if I need to get full telemetry now. It would spoil my minimalist approach to track events. Just bring tools for pad change, paper towels and a tire gauge and that's it. You are making huge progress and will be up with the quicker guys soon, but don't make that your goal. Learn your car, the track, be safe and the speed will come. I saw you taking care of bunches of cars at a time and you're video looks pretty good. You are doing a lot of coasting though, but again, no need to worry about that. Glad everything went well. It's a great track, but you also need to join me at Road Atlanta some time too. Victor |
