Idk...must have been more of a thing to do back then?

You certainly don't see "tons" of converted 328/335s turned into M3s. Probably has to deal with the amount of electronics in modern cars.

-hope all is well after the storm boof.
Yea it does seem tacky today, but I get the feeling his E46 is pretty cool. Thank you for asking Greg, no issues from Irma. The best thing about it was I got to drive to Atlanta in my M3. A nice little road trip you might say. Hope you have been well also.

Are you including the fenders, DCT, front fascia, rear diffuser, MDM electronics, and carbon fiber roof in your 335i to M3 parts swap?

I'm certainly not pushing you to do this, but in future, if you want to post pictures on this website, you can download your picture from your Photobucket account to your desktop, then use the paperclip attach tab on the upper margin to upload your pics from your desktop to your post.

The 08 I wanted previously had damage to it ... replaced the hood and painted it jerez black and the frame of the car is off. Not to mention it didn?t have the carbon fiber sunroof which I thought it did. The search continues

Unless your money can earn more in your investments than the interest charges that will accrue on the loan will cost you, pay as much up front as you can. Debt is not your friend in most cases, unless you are either making money on the float or earning more than the interest rate charged.

I'm going to assume that since you already own an F10 m5 and looking for a weekend m3 that cash flow isn't a problem and your family is well taken care of etc..
Honestly, I would pay the m5 off before I would even consider picking up an M3 for JUST weekend duty. Seems somewhat crazy and excessive to have a big car loan and medium car loan at the same time (for just one person) since the coolness of having an m5 and an m3 does not put food on the table and all that.

With that being said, if the m5 is paid off and/or you are a younger or older, established gentleman who is very financially capable/estsblished, I would say the 10% down is minimum. Just my practical 2 cents (although sometimes practicality isn't our strong point, especially on this forum). Being car poor is no fun, so just don't work yourself into massive debt and regret it later. But owning both m5 and m3 would be utterly awesome. I vote e92 over e46.

Ya I'm torn right now hahhha I still owe some $$ on the m5. And taking on the m3 would be sort of annoying in terms of monthly payments. Plus double insurance / maintenance. But the urge inside of me wants me to pull the trigger hhhahahahha

Personally, I purchase my cars outright. If I don't have the cash, it doesn't belong in my garage. Otherwise, there would be 458 Speciale in there.

That's definitely a way to look at ones finances. But unfortunately it's not realistic for the masses. My two car loans are very low interest and my cash yields higher return in housing and other Investments.

0 to 60 in 2.8 seconds, wow $400k+ price tag for a 2014 used, gulp!

Copy that. Would you go with a donor M3 or after market parts on eBay or equivalent? How would you transfer the carbon fibre roof?

Agree money is much better placed in appreciating assets such as rental homes versus depreciating ones like our cars. I guess I am on the conservative side when it comes to car purchases.
