CCC + Carplay install tips?

I have successfully connected a wireless CCC carplay screen for my 08 E92. However, getting the main CCC unit remounted with the additional mounting harness behind it is a problem.

Does anyone have any tips on how to place or route the harness so the ccc unit will mount flush?

Okay after a another time out i retried it.

1. remove the bracket that holds the CCC in place.
2. Separate the wires from the bundled (taped cable) and group the direct CCC wires, and the ones that attach to the harness.
3. tie a string around the connector harness and position towards the passenger footwell
4. re-install the bracket
5. connect the CCC and slowly push it back in. (at the same time, from the passenger footwell, pull the string. This will pull the large connector away from the back of the CCC and down towards a gap by the footwell.
6. Test again and put everything else back.
