ABS / DSC light on

Had my car for about 3 weeks now. Drive it fairly soft most days. But I've definitely tested out its full potential too. Whilst having a little "play" on some slidey cobbles today, nothing too punishing at all and suddenly the ABS / DSC warning lights have come on. Seems very coincidental that now a sensor has failed? Any thoughts? Hopefully overnight she'll fix herself?

Otherwise I'll get it code read next week. But in 2 days I'm due to have a small track day. She currently won't let me disabled traction control, where is the fuse kept so I can do this myself?

You were sliding around? Does your steering wheel not seem straight anymore?

Steering angle sensor is notorious for setting these off.

try resetting the steering angle sensor. you will need software (or a shop) to do this. i use tool32, personally.

Thanks all. Once I've got this fixed, I'll post back.

For now, anyone know how to disable traction control manually? I'm back to track her

Had the codes read 5DF0 and 5DF1. Cleared and staying off for now. I'll see how the next few days of driving go.

After a search on this forum and google, YouTube. Seems to be a fairly common BMW problem. Can be fixed. However, I really don't have time or tools. I'll try convince an Indy to repair. Doesn't need replacement it seems.

Anyone else had similar issues?

Update so far - problem is intermittent. Fairly annoying, but there ya go. I'll get a permanent fix if and when it becomes a permanent problem / fault

I had the ABS and DSC lights come on, along with the following warnings on iDrive:

Driving Stability! Drive moderately
DBC malfunction! Drive carefully
Start-off assistance inactive!

Dealer pulled codes 5D91, 5D93, 5D96. Issue was a wheel speed sensor. Replaced it and solved the problem.

From my experience, it could be a number of things.
I had this issue a couple of months ago and unfortunately in my case, it turned out to be the DSC control unit. Carly showed code: 5DBB.

Good luck and let us know what the culprit was.
