No problem there. I already have a few road trips planned for next summer.

Garage List
For low mileage cars, just keep them plugged in..... I've owned many garage queens and almost never had to replace a battery.

My wife's 2002 MCS has 40K miles on its original battery.

But then, I don't think I would go claim a new battery form BMW with a car that is couple of years old with very low miles....

just curious, how low mileage was your car and what year was it?

I bought a 2008 with 8200 miles in 2010, i thought I was low.

It is a 2008 with 12,000 when I bought it. Now it has 15,500.

OK so BMW Wont cover My Battery!! So here is the deal' . .. I Got home one evening Parked My Cur I woke Up the next day to find My Battery dead . So I contact BMW to take my car car in for inspection. They take 24 hr's to
inspect and charge the battery. The next dat they call me and say that the Battery. . .. Is Bad and is not covered under Warrantee because the cars computer says that the Lights were left on and the battery will no longer hold Charge. It also says that the car sat for a long period of time. The rep then tells me a new one is $500!!! Talk about a Rip off! To me this is a Bunch of BS!Im now going. to go and argue with then to corer it as there Is obov:sly something either wrong with the battery or the Changing system. Well for sure the Battery. is bad because it will no longer hold a Charge regardless if the lights were left on or not! Im sure that a good battery would keep the lights on over night any how. Has anyone had this issue with the dealer before?? If so I what was the Outcome ?

I had just this problem this past week. Irvine BMW brought in one of the regional BMW engineeers and they found 2 systems that were pulling power parasitiacallly, even when the car was turned off and the key out. Talk to Johnathon Lewis is service. It took me three time to get them to find the problem and it took them a week to track it down and fix all the defective systems by they did. I can provide more details if you PM me.

This thread brings a question to mind....looking at the picture of the Porsche trickle charger in an earlier post the presence of a cigarette lighter fixture on it I wonder if any BMW's,for example, have any 12v outlets that are live all the time.I know that the Mercedes trickle charger also has the cigarette lighter fixture as well.
