When did the 800# or website show you were scheduled for production and not at the "...no confirmed production date yet" message?
Week 4 -800 # was day it went into production. Website was one day later. Week 7 still no confirmed production date.

I'm still tracking the week 4 so I know what and when for the week 7 build specifically the holiday cash issue.

This 60/90 day lock thing is interesting. It would seem that if BMW accepts an order and the associated terms, which assumes an accepted, scheduled production week, then the lock period should suffice, barring production delays or other BMW managed issues.

If you have an order accepted with price protection noted, then one would assume the order would not be accepted with the terms if it was not within a reasonable time to meet the deal lock. I believe a production delay would be honored and any order accepted would not have been without a production date that was within a reasonable window, unless the customer changed or requested one beyond that confirmed initial production window.

Keep in mind that the lock expiration is from the end of the program, not the day you got your approval.

Regarding production week: I ordered 12/17, and was a scheduled week 4 production. My car went into production 1/13 and is scheduled for completion 1/24.

And yes....the wait sucks BIG TIME!!

That seems like a long production time. Unless completion means on the boat leaving or you are having some individual options?

No individual options. These are the dates that the 800# are providing. Maybe it's already done?

Even though it says it started on 1/13, the status changed just this past Monday 1/17.

It's only 11 days if in fact it started 1/13 and does actually finish 1/24. Doesn't production usually takes 1-2 weeks?

I have read that the production process from start to finish of an M3 is approximately 30 hours.

That's a nice find! I'm going to have to read that.

Regarding the 30hrs: I haven't read the thread you just provided but I would assuem that 30hrs may be actual production time. Regarding status tracking though, there's no way that it shows in that status (for status tracking purpose) for only 2 days.

Check the first sticky in this section of the forums (the Ultimate Order / Ship Tracking Guide). In there it says:

Who knows. But if they want to keep my car on the production line a little longer and pay it extra attention, they won't hear any complaints from me!!

Actually, now that I think about it - I know why mine is probably on the line longer. It's because I ordered ZCP and supposedly the extra 200 HP is on backorder!!

Makes sense now...

Maybe they are using yours as the lunch break transport for the week. Check under the seats when you get it for wienerschnitzel wrappers and beer steins.

Shotgun!

I think all of us are at the status 150 Production Started stage.

( Mine is scheduled for completion on the 27th).

this stage means the order is locked, they are assembling needed components, and they have scheduled production within about 10 days. the VIN is also assigned here

Build starts with stage 151 Body shop ( about 1 day), then 152 paint shop (another day), and then 153-155 assembly ( one day). If you are real good, you can catch the 3 phases by calling the number daily. It takes about 3 days to do the three ( maybe less) and they then transport the car to shipping. 2-3 days later you are at the port stacked up waiting for a ship.

are you saying an order goes 150 10 days prior to construction starting? If so, I assume this means that you go 150 well before your build week?

weird...they should have given it to you... at least ask.

i'm trying to squeeze this 6nr option in without having to first contact my CA and push back my production week in anticipation of being able to add it... in other words i just want to tell them to add 6nr and have that cause the production date shift ... but if our orders go 150 10 days prior to being built (build week) then I've got a lot less time than I thought.

I went 150 on the 12th with an estimated completion date of the 27th, so 2 weeks or 11 working days. It is an estimate of the delay.

I found if you decide to change something at the last minute, fate will move your complete date up to block your effort.

It happened to me

I got the BMW Assist added couple days back, my order was in 112. I thought BMW assist came with Bluetooth. It just shows as BMW Assist on the site.

Premium Package includes BMW Assist with bluetooth (639). Had you not ordered the premium package?

My car went into production on the 13th and as of this morning is awaiting transportation to the carrier. So that would imply production was more or less one week exactly.

I had requested it, I told him i would be happy with atleast the bmw assist if he cannot get the premium. So I think he was able to get only the bmw assist.

This tracking system is all jacked up. Anyone notice that the steps on BMWUSA changed overnight?

Anywho, called 800# and looks like I'm in the body shop now. That puts me at status 151?

Same steps for me - including the same "not firm production date".

Really? Strange. Here's what the site showed yesterday:

Start: On Order
1. Schedule for Production
2. Awaiting Transport
3. En Route
4. At Preparation Center
Finish: At Your BMW Center

Here's what it shows today:

Start: On Order
1. Start of Production
2. Production Finished
3. En Route
4. At Preparation Center
Finish: At Your BMW Center
