Anybody with folding seats or EPS Audio is obviously a boulevard cruiser. I bet the EPS sound system weighs at least 10lb over the HiFi with the bigger amp, bigger magnets, and center channel!
Man I wish there was some data on this. Just a lot of money and time for something that you can't really see or feel, even though the idea really tickles me. |

^ Sure doesn't look like $2K there!
Info on the Audi panel, FWIW. https://www.repairerdrivennews.com/2...-body-14-ways/ I bet the glue is the best solution, but kinda wish it could be bolted in. Last edited by wyatth; 02-03-2021 at 01:39 PM.. |

I mean... you could literally use strong velcro (ez-pass style) to fix it in there if your objective is purely aesthetic (and bonus: make it removeable at will!), or I'm sure you could bolt it in too. The thought process behind the design, however, is a dramatic increase in chassis rigidity, which necessarily implies using that very specific, *very* strong glue. But if you don't care about the rigidity implications and are OK with spending a lot more on a simple 'trunk cover' than the multitude of options out there (I mean it certainly looks much hotter than anything else I've ever seen!), I'd say more power to you! No way would I consider this in any fashion that compromised it's intended benefit! Torsional rigidity first, something to see when I pop my a trunk a very, very distant second.

Mine is on its way.
Hope to get it while still prepping the car for 2021. But delivery time is hard to predict. |

Meh, another well documented DIY by SYT_Shadow . Nothing to see here. <yawn>

Mine has arrived.
Installation will have to wait until I get the car sorted out. But if SYT wants to help, it will happen tomorrow :-) |

They make the wall for f8x and I'm interested on this piece of art.
Have you tried their Upper Tie Bar and Front Bumper Carrier? |

I'm not sure the front bumper carrier to be CF material… feel like metal will be safer. Haha

In the E46 it was Kevlar. In the F8X, despite all the lightening efforts, the front is alu and the rear is steel. The rear weighs so much!! Ugh
