I know you can change your User Title (I did!), and I know this isn't an earth-shaking issue, but how about going to a conventional "senior member" type rank, or even go creative. A motorcycle board I frequent uses terms like "hooligan". But military ranks? Just bad taste.

If some 20 year old college kid driving his parents M3 wants to have "BRIGADIER GENERAL" as his user text on a BMW website, who fucking cares? Put on my uniform and wear my rank, then i'll be pissed. But otherwise, it doesn't fuckin matter.
