Yes I could see picking it over m3/4 problem is at 100k there are lots of other things I would pick and wouldn't buy an m3/4 new either.

Top end model starts at $70k. But at $100k... I'd start shopping for a P-car.

It's not a 4WD, even if it made 50psi of boost it has already lost against the GT-R which can actually put its power down the road (and so it joins the m4 camp of TC cars with useless power that only serves to sell car on paper, maybe they'll use donut drifting videos like the m4). But it's lighter ?? it won't change the result. And bmw marketing had lied too during the whole m4 pre release and even as the m4 was being sold about weight so why could they not ? The car ended up several hundred pounds heavier as measured by owners ... no explanation, it just is... And more and more they can say what they want about perf numbers, it's all taken under some ECU settings that are not going to be available when you drive the car (but you'll never know that) because they would have to replace your engine when it died after 6 month if it performed like they advertise.

The ubiquitous HP and TQ numbers, HP/liter, that you see everywhere mean very little when the car is turbocharged. Back when cars were all NA, those numbers had great significance because it applied pure and simple. With turbos it's an inadequate way to describe specs. If those cars had to be raced on tracks lap after lap in competition then more real meaningful specs would have to be invented to rank their engine more realistically. As it is Turbo HP is like devalued money, they can print it at will.

Most conspicuous is the absence of any metric used to describe the amount of lag, horsepower without boost, horsepower in transitions, heat soak. Basically they advertise turbo cars as if they were NA where only HP and TQ matters. It's all wrong. But they will continue until the market realizes that you have to invent a different set of metrics to describe how a turbo engine car performs and how it can be ranked vs. another turbo car. As it is now it is all a lot of BS.

I'd take an F80 M3 with an AA exhaust over this puppy. F8x with AA sounds waaay better than stock.

Ha. I used to, do you know what would happen in the old soviet USSR when people opened their mouth ? gulag and deleted from the surface of the earth. Same in the F8x forum section in a virtual way.
When the F8x was released if you only posted "that car sounds horrible", nothing more, in the F8x section of the forum, your account would be wiped out. Tried and tested.

A friend of mine sold his GTR and has one on order. I have to say, I'm really digging this car.

https://www.alfaromeousa.com/cars/al...glio.gotostyle

The configurator is online. Not sure what's up with the lack of the curb weight on the specs sheet. But, Brembos come stock, and it has a ZF 6MT. 7250 rpm redline, too and air to water intercooler.

I've been taking a hard look at the Quadrifoglio and it looks like it has potential. Unfortunately, the manual won't make it to the states. I've contacted my local Alfa dealer and they will let me know when they get one in to test drive.

Saw one in the flesh in bright blue and loved it, but it was locked, at the STL auto show.
