What have you done with or to your M3 today?

Installed the F10 M5 shift knob and took her for a driver just to try the new shift knob. I should have done this long time ago the shifting is so much more precise and enjoyable.

Have you guys with the F10 knobs having issues with the boots? Just wondering if you run into any issues...

The only "issue" I had with mine (replace the base ring method):
Notice how the F10 boot has only 2 stitchings and the e9x has 3 stitchings? The ring has cutouts for the stitching to make up for the extra bulkiness. Since the F10 doesn't have the stitching (closest to the driver) there will be a slight indent from the cutout along the base. I sanded that edge flat.

The other "issue" was completely removing the old leather off the ring.

Neither are really an issue, but worth mentioning as they are the challenging steps.

Otherwise, its a typical custom job that takes patients and little knowledge.

haha, i had a similar pic at 088888 888.8. I also took one at 098765 432.1. Next one I plan is 123456 789.0.

ECS rear performance trailing arms are on. They look very nice compare to the stock stamped piece.

Yeah, getting the boot to secure and look nice will be the biggest challenge especially if you go with the nip and tuck method. It took me a while to get it perfect where no section of the boot was sticking out and the ring to snap on.

I had to do this couple of times

You could always take it to an upholstery shop if you don't want to deal with it.

Either way good luck. I'm sure you'll love the new shift knob.

Placed an order for some new wheels, 60-90 day build time. Can't wait to get them on after this winter.

It's not what I did to my M3 today, it's what my M3 did for me instead.

Gave me a nice increased emissions CEL

Don't understand why you guys have to go through such pain as to install a short throw stick. I think it's utterly useless. My OEM stick/6MT shifts perfect , I COULD HOLD A RAW EGG BETWEEN MY HAND AND THE STICK AND STILL SHIFT FREELY NO PROBLEM AT ALL! You guys are really "challenged" people, there is nothing wrong at all with the OEM stick 1st->2nd, no problem whatsoever.

I think when someone is so incapable to shift correctly and persist not wanting to learn the correct way after a year or two he will ruin the box. My car was never in the hands of such a person.
