I would be very interested in something like this, I just bought a 2012 with some expected wear at the bolster, curious if it was expensive.

Good spot on the 911 vibes. The fabric is what was used in the 911R. I managed to find a supplier out of the UK that stocks it.

I had the front seats completely retimed, so new leather all round and all of the seat padding was also fixed up.

Cost a pretty penny, but I originally started out looking at the Recaro Pole Position classics so it’s all relative I guess.

I didn’t realise how difficult it was in Australia to change out the seats and still have the vehicle road compliant.

Well worth the money, it turned out fantastic!!

There really is no cheap solution, Recaros, M4 seats, reupholster.....it's all going to cost you.

Finally found the source of my front suspension clunk. The front subframe had some loose bolts, including the motor mounts. I'm not sure exactly what happened, but I suspect after the shop wrapped up my rod bearing install, they handed off the final torque and wrap up to a new shop guy. Some of the bolts were properly torqued, some weren't. One of the motor mounts was missing the lower nut. It just took time for everything to start loosening. I've driven 7k+ miles since the rod bearing job, so I'm really hoping that there was no issue with the engine job and this was just an incompetent shop employee wrapping up for the experienced guys.

Guess it's a good reminder to anyone hearing a suspension noise to go through with a torque wrench on EVERY bolt you can find. It is dead quiet now, even with GC race camber plates and articulating rear perches.

Car is back from alignment and corner balance, and all set for some good driving. Gotta break in the MCS dampers. Was pleasantly surprised by the weight of the car. Only some minor light-weighting mods (wheels, battery, exhaust) and it weighed in dead on at 3500 lbs at 5/8 tank, despite the 60 odd lbs added for the supercharger.

Bought one down in Cali! At last! Seems to be wonderfully maintained, white on black e90 with a slicktop and cloth seats. Really awesome tasteful classy mods, and when my buddy saw and drove it, it was just too clean to pass up. Slightly higher mileage, nearly 150k, but I’ll do the bearings myself within the next 10k miles. I’m up near Seattle, so I’m going to fly down, spend a day with family and car friends lightly driving some nice roads, and then drive it home over 2 days. I can’t wait!

Nice! I just hit 140k miles and it’s tracking regularly and covering daily driving and 2000 mile road trips with reliable ease. I maybe wouldn’t wait that long for rod bearings if you can’t confirm they were ever done but otherwise- Enjoy!

I got a message from a local CCA member saying the original trunk from my car popped up for sale on marketplace. Turns out window2time had kept it after all and never used it since IND installed a Vorsteiner trunk lid. It changed hands a couple times and never found a use. Me being a nerd had to have it because why not? I’m an M car owner, of course I’ll piss away monies. I like having the original parts to my cars.

Thanks for the input! They were confirmed done at 90k. At 148k, it's nearing time to do them again, and I'll do it myself within the next 10k.

Can't wait to pile the (s)miles onto the car!

There’s not much data on the idea/ need of a second set of aftermarket rod bearings. I think it was a practice with the e46. With the s65 the idea that it is one and done has pervaded. I had 60-70k supercharged miles on VAC bearings. They came out looking brand new. BE bearings went in. I like the piece of mind for having done it, in particular because VAC had gone through a number of designs and I had no idea what was in the car. But I also don’t fault the majority who aren’t seeing it as necessary. Doing it yourself makes it cost favorable, if i had a proper life I would probably do what you’re doing.

Replaced my E90 racecar's rear subframe with a new one...powdercoated it too, and then installed full solid kinematics...fun times:

Loving every moment of the E9X platform. I will one day own a Frozen Silver one and will do an OEM+ build to it...might even SC it with a Harrop Stage 2...then I'll have 1 museum car unmodified (Moonstone), 1 NA racecar (E90 SS), and then an OEM+ build resembling a GTS (Frozen Silver).

Fixed SOS Malfunction error with one of those cheap bypass loops off Amazon. Satellite module was culprit. Thankfully an easy fix.

Coolant and power steering fluid flush with OEM replacement of the power steering reservoir. Did the dealer over fill the coolant tank? This is after sitting overnight cold. I wouldn't be surprised as they overfilled my oil last time. I had to remove 100 cc from the filter housing to get it to read at the max fill line again. If anyone is curious I paid $229 for coolant and power steering each and $100 to install the reservoir. $600 out the door after tax

Some on eBay. I then found a gentleman that had a couple sets made based off a real CRT as the lack of these components are crazy considering all the GTS parts made nowadays.

Yah getting the shop guys to care as much as we do for our cars going to be a hard challenge. At least you got extra coolant not less as it's easier to remove then premix a little bit to get it topped up.
