Ya, mine was a really tight fit.
I sprayed some penetrating oil at the joint, then was able to pry it apart at the two little slots.
Just a little movement at a time, back and forth, back and forth.

Thanks a ton! I guess I just need some reassurance. It's out now!

My wife and I recently bought pieces for a sim rig earlier this year. I like to think it helped a lot.

This was posted a few days ago about how to maximize your sim practice. I thought it was a good read.

Ok new question. I was able to get the rear subframe bushings out with ease. But there is like no lip to the front ones. What you you guys use to stabilize when pressing in?

I cracked off the lip from the stock bushings using a cold chisel and pliers.
Then I used what's called a "stripper" to support the frame around the bushing bore.
The stripper is anything that has a hole just a fraction larger diameter than the bore in the frame.
(The 3rd photo shows the large aluminum stripper underneath the subframe with its hole aligned with the bore in the subframe)

For removal, I used a custom pusher to push only the outer metal lip of the OEM bushing, while the stripper supports the frame underneath (top 3 photos).

I also used the stripper for installation of the solid bushings (bottom photo).

More detailed info on how I did the solid install in this link…

Oh boy. It's looking a lot more like I'm going to take it to a shop to have them pressed in LOL

Original game plan was have my shop do everything. But I'm bored and it's winter so figured I'd tackle it myself and get some tools in the process. I actually think pressing in won't be as bad. I'm struggling to catch that lip to press them out. Which won't matter so much when pressing.

I'm thinking of taking a hole saw to some 4x4 to maybe brace it a little more

Transmission shops, rear end shops, most machine shops will have a hydraulic press, just look for something like that in your area.
You could even print out my sketch for the pushers and share it with them, they may already have something close.

Also, let them know to get a well fitting (.875" ish) spacer to place between the top and bottom halves of each pair of bushing bores…don't want those to flex and cause misalignment when pressing in the bushings.

Nice thank you! Curious what lube did you use for the bushings? Also was the spacing a bit different on the rears? I pushed both out and noticed one was a little wider than the other. Could just be due to the uneven cuts on the reliefs

I used a thin coat of Valvoline EP grease, but anything should be fine.
Mine went in with very little force (2-1/2 tons?), so maybe even dry would work without issue?

(After the flange on the bushing touched down, I "seated" them by ramping up the pressure to 4 tons. Anything higher, I was afraid of crushing the frame.
Your pressures could vary, depending on bushing sizes, spacer fitment, hydraulic press and alignment differences.)

The gaps on each side of my frame were slightly different, so I made one for each side.
But if I recall correctly, the difference was only like .020", so probably wasn't necessary to make two?
But that could also be why mine installed with very little force?
