Ok now to what my issue is...I see and hear some delay..but also on your Gear Indicator that's in-front of you. That would drive me nuts.
Thanks!

The delay is from the sound on the aim smartycam. The sound lags a bit from the video. If you watch the tach and indicator you ought to see they are synched up. There really is no delay in real life. It’s just like the gts programming on both up and down shifts. Figured out how to sync the sound up to be spot on in post processing recently - that bugged the crap out of me too.

Anything you would change or switch up?

Oh...in regards to your following statement .......My car is basically a full track car never gets driven on the street just to and from the gas station which is four blocks away but that's it.

Wouldn’t change anything - the whole setup has been great. Have another diff built to the exact same specs ready to go into our current race build.

Then absolutely no reason to not go with the 3.62 - definitely a noticeable improvement

Loaded the Alpine 3.62 tune and have nothing negative to say. Car feels GREAT.

All this time I figured when I had the Dinan 3.62 setup installed with the Dinan DCT tune (at the dealer) they accounted for the gearing change. Clearly not.

Car runs much smoother, and perceivably quicker according to the Mexican butt dyno. Would recommend Alex's 3.62 tune for folks on the fence. Must have imo.

Interesting, when I spoke with alpine he said he was not able to get the "artificial downshift blips" to work, but they weren't needed. That was a bit concerning, so I went with Epic and they nailed it. The car shifts like factory with my 3.62.

Hm, it certainly blips now. I was on the fence about Epic vs Alpine but went with Alpine since the car is on an Alpine engine tune and Alex has been a good guy to work with.

Highway downshifts have a slight blip then of course 3>2>1 are heavenly.

Can't wait to get the car on the track.

Bumping this up as I continue to think about a FD swap. Really prefer the 3.45 over the 3.62 and it looks like Epic offers a 3.45 DCT flash. Are the Epic 3.45/3.62 flashes based on the OE GTS software?

Has there been any progress on the simple "byte" change in the "TCU map" to account for this? I have and am otherwise happy with my OE GTS/442 software. Wouldn't be interested in a gear swap if the DCT won't perform exactly as it does now.

Been running epic with 3.45 diff and been very happy. Have both engine and DCT tune.

That's great, thanks. On the DCT tune, did you happen to have a GTS flash before the FD change, and if so, how does this compare? I assume it's otherwise like a GTS tune (starts in D, no lag into R, faster and smoother shifts/blips, etc.)?

I had the GTS tune previous to my epic flash, but from what I've gathered from Epic his 3.45/3.62 (and even 4.10 for DCT woah) is based upon the GTS tune, so looks like you'd get it with his 3.xx adaptation software. It's been working well on mine.

I admit I haven't read the entire thread, but if one were interested then how does one get in touch with Epic?

I'm running the 3:45 with DCT tune from Mike Benvo @BPMSport, which I also think is based upon the EU GTS tune.

For a mixed use of track/street what do you recommend? 3.45 or 3.62?

Right now it's the biggest doubt I have.

Thanks!

If you need to do long distances 3.45 is probably better. If it's a pure city/canyon/track car go for 3.62. That said, it's only a 5% difference between the two. I have a 3.45 on my daily driven M3 and it's already a lot of fun.

In have 3.62 and would not do it on a mixed usage car.

Even just driving to the track I go slower than usual because I don't like the high RPM in 7th on public roads.

To oversimplify, Don't use 7th gear for awhile and see if you like it.
