Interesting thread and I can't sleep.
I test drove both, GTR asking price was higher than my M3, it sold for less about 1mo later I hear. Overall the GTR offered less comfort and practicality, higher maintenance (I hear $1200 oil change only at the dealer). Not a fan of the styling, plus the color (yes it was used). Surprising to me it is just about the same length of the M3 but wider. In the end I was looking for a trackable daily driver not a track car to drive daily. I can afford both new or used. I'm happy with my choice, that 100HP is noticeable but not unattainable. A few people mention the GTR is 90% cheaper than a Porsche 997 turbo. This would be wrong more like 20-25% less. Something has to be said for styling and feel, then again those are subjective, resale value etc.. Sure 911T/GT3, GTR, ZR1 are supercars but not exotics. Each at a different price range; therefore degree of exclusivity and offer different feel. It's like a comparison between a 45&, veyron, CCR, zonda.
