Navigating America in a single hump M3- no nav, no GPS. Just old fashion paper maps on back roads. Seventeen states in 35 days and 7,500 miles. One oil change and one replacement PS4S.

Be on the lookout for a lost geezer in an Alpine M3- It's me and I am about to make a U-turn.

Beautiful e90!!! Did you ever use the rbf600 before? Is it enough, don't you need the 660 to avoid the fade?

And what did you decide about the middle brake lines above the rear subframe? Did you do them? How was it?

Nice!!! That's so many miles for one trip, I imagine how many places you visited. Awesome.

And it looks like someone on the background needed to heal from car seat backache.

Wow, they look really nice!!

Did you polish the wheels yourself? What method did you use? Could you point a youtube video of the method?

I would be too, that looks pretty great. Can you share the paint and stencils used? I've got brakes coming up and going to rebuild my calipers too. This would be a nice 'while I'm here' project.

Polished by hand with chemical guys wheel wax. It helps to flash of the brake dust when washing.

Working on getting a list of things that need done to the car as winter approaches and it parks down. May split it into a do some before winter, do some before spring.

I did all the wrenching last summer on the car and just trying to decide if I want to outsource anything to an Indy mechanic. Probably the bushings/subframe stuff I will.

Thank you! I've used the rb600 on my m2c and it performed great. However once I run through the rest of this I'll most likely upgrade to the 660 along with a big brake kit.

Those inner rear hoses were a royal pain to replace but I got them done with a tiny 11mm wrench and a TON of patience. Ended up having to replace a small section of hard brake line too but not a big deal.

I used 'VHT' caliper paint that I picked up at Autozone. One can was plenty and no clearcoat, I'm happy with the gloss as is.

The ///M caliper decals I got on-line on amazon I believe. Made for calipers.

I've driven 400 miles and one car wash since and so far, so good.

And of course, and as expected, it's a manual trans. Sounds like a fun trip - and on back roads too. Olde style. Nice.

Finally worked up doing the gasket covers …
Probably took me 4 hours to do but I also removed front bumper to clean and install some so air scoops and figure out this soudn whenever I hit my lip to see if anything got stuck and of course it was a huge rock??! Idk how it's possible but it's there …

These the same parts for each side or different part numbers ? For the oil separators

I got one new one and forgot check before install of which it matched…

Also I started her up and it make a sound like a clunk sound 1 time. semi concerned and let her run a minute. Turned off and ran again for 2-3 minutes no issues. But I am noticing a sound from like passenger side … I don't think from doing gasket covers … I guess I'll run her again tomorrow and record something. Semi burnt smell … idk if it's from my cleaner I used on the covers or could be something more concerning ?

keep in mind that the s65 makes noises. a lot of them and of various kinds.

not that it won't be a problem, but if you ears are too sensitive they may be paranoic.

But just found out I have to sell the car due to unplanned circumstances 😭

Switched up my exhaust today. I've had gen 1 Active Autowerke cans on the back for the last three years; last year with their X pipe.

On the freeway it sounded like a race car with the oodles of noise bouncing off concrete barriers and bridges and I loved every second of that, but couldn't take the excessive noise everywhere else. Just so damn loud at all times. I will say with stock cats the gen 1 cans sound incredible around town. Gives the car a nice low growl at mid rpm range.

Now it's too quiet with the HFC and one set of resonators. Thinking of trying out the two or four pipe mod. Anyone have any real world experience with between the two? I'll be checking threads too but just curious how each one differs.

Edit: looks like four pipe is the way to go after 3 minutes of google searching.

Yes I did everything myself. I used Amazon covers, the fit is good. Also cleaned out old adhesive and put some new butyl seal in there!

Well this seems to be a recurring frigging theme.... Not sure how you DD guys do it. Granted, mine is a fairly long commute so it would literally kill me with a visit to the pumps twice a week. Just taking it out for a spin on the weekends brings me here far too often. It sure is fun though!
