There are no new details in the thread because there are actually no new details with that LCI. At least none that would be important enough and not obvious from the LCIs of other G2x models.

This thread is long enough already and doesn't need various personal tangents, please.

G22 LCI should be in production since March and it was still not revealed?

G20 LCI was presented two months prior to start of production.

Bmw made both. As far as i can remember, BMW called the shots as in set out the dev framework for T to work in

The G20 LCI was presented 5-6 weeks prior to start of production, like always.

I'm pretty sure the same will be true for the G22 LCI; none of the other March press releases have gone out, either.

Have you seen the possibility of the 4 series LCI being delayed? BMW released EOP/SOP for MY25 March and April builds and it's mysteriously missing.

Can please you share the MY25 EOP/SOP information you have? That would be very helpful...

The information you posted was for MY24 -- based on the above posts, I think Game has information for MY25...

I heard from a dealer that the G90 M5 would be available to order in early March, and that they heard this information earlier this month. Maybe they misspoke and meant the reveal. Can you or anyone else confirm this if true?

Appreciate your continued updates to this informative thread, ynguldyn.

Can you confirm whether the SOP-EOP of the G97 X3MC will follow the base X3 G45 series dates (08/24-10/33) or will it have a different timeline?

G45 X3[list][*]In production 08/24-10/33[*]This is the traditional X3 with gas, diesel, and hybrid versions. The full EV role is going to the Neue Klasse. There will still be X3M (G97)...

M cars are never released at the same time as their base models. You can check the history for any existing one and compare.

Understood. Our early run 2018 G01 X3M40i arrived Oct 2017 and early production 2020 F97 X3MC in Sep 2019. So if that's consistent looking at ~ 2-1/2 years. [Edit 18 Feb 2024 1119AM -And for completeness of the model timeline, my wife's early run 2022 F97 X3MC LCI arrived in Aug 2021]. Will check back for your updates. Thanks again for the thread.

G87 M2
  • In production until 07/29
  • 08/24: engine power increases to 475hp; cosmetic changes including new wheel options. This is not the "CS" or "Competition". Skyscraper Gray, Mineral Red, Portimao Blue, and Sao Paulo Yellow could be the new colors.
  • 08/25-07/26: M2 CS, with the wheels off the big brother CS/CSLs, carbon roof, bucket seats, alcantara steering wheel as standard. Automatic transmission only.

G80 M3
  • In production until 02/27
  • 07/24: Gets the LCI changes from G82.

G82/G83 M4
  • In production until 06/28
  • M4 CS will be in production 07/24-06/25. Virtually the same car as the current M3 CS but with two fewer doors and some headlight changes (no laserlights).
So, potentially, an electric M3 replaces the G80 ICE M3 in March 2027. Then an electric M4 replaces the G82/G83 ICE M4 in July 2028 leaving the G87 M2 as the only small ICE M car from July 2028 - July 2029.

Hard to see the G87 M2 NOT getting M xDrive [as rumored/speculated for 2026] and a significant bump in power to remain competitive in this space as time marches on and the M3 & M4 get even faster by going electric.

If it plays out this way, the future of the M2 looks very promising but BMW should keep building the ICE cars alongside the electric ones and lets sales dictate when the ICE cars go away. I think they may be surprised by how many people will prefer to continue buying "slower" ICE cars. Many of them already prefer to buy the "slower" manual versions of their ICE cars so the emotional part of the driving experience still sells a lot of cars.

I've driven an i4 M50 several times now and while it is a touch faster than these M cars, it doesn't leave me with the same feeling after stepping out of a M2/M3/M4. It's not even close.
