Something nice on street and crank it up at the track for decent performance?
Have you considered the Ohlins range from 3dm? That's the direction I'm going.
Whats the difference with the 3dm ones? Are they just full kit setups or something different than standard RT?

He can revalve them for different spring rates if you want. Can come as a package with a camber plate and rear shock mounts, etc.

Or you can get the dedicated track kit, which comes with stiffer swift springs, camber plate, etc. He sells both.

He includes one free revalve too. I opted for the 'Track Day' kit which has softer springs (450/800) than the dedicated kit (685/1000) as my car is still seeing street time for now. You can also add stiffer springs and revalve later.

My new recommendation for anyone buying shocks is go with shocks ordered through someone who can offer setup advice, revalve them for you, and service them when needed without having to ship parts across the country and having your car sitting on jack stands for weeks. (my experience with KW's)

I will say with all of the struggles I've had trying to put Nitrons on my 86 that if I hadn't ordered from Inertia Lab and had the help of Chris I'm not sure I would have been able to resolve everything myself. And he's local so now when I do want to make changes, I have him around for that too.

My thoughts exactly, having someone a phone call away was a big piece of it for me. Barry knows his stuff and helped Ohlins design the kit.

Agreed!! The leading reason I went with MCS, again. Wyatt is a quick phone call away and the guys at BW will always answer (even sometimes on weekends).

Are there any C63 or M5 (F90) owners in here?

Trying to decide between the two as a second car. I drove a C43 and it was decent, but after owning an M3 it kinda makes me realize I need to own the fastest version lol. Surprisingly hard to find one around here, going to have to trek all the way out to Fort Worth just to drive one, and let's not even talk about finding a properly equipped one.

Did drive an F90 M5 over the weekend and holy BALLS is that thing fast. It's truly next level. My biggest hang-up is how muted and quiet that thing feels...plus it's a big car. I'm just used to small, nimble stuff like the M3.

But after driving an F80 M3 ZCP I don't think I can do it. The F80 has way too much road noise and rides bad. I think it's worse than my E90 was.

Well, what's your goal with the dd?

Doesn't sound like fuel economy is an issue. What about getting a fun truck like a raptor or Trx? Fun dd, tow rig… two birds, one stone.

Raptors and TRXs are seeing insane markups and suck at towing. They also won't fit in my garage.

I want a fun DD that won't be tiresome on long drives, and is still engaging to drive when I want to hoon it on the way to Target. I feel like I'm a fool for not jumping on an F90 M5 which is supercar-fast, but that thing is so quiet and muted that it feels weird to me.

How about an E60 M5? Or a new car?

Nah I don't want something older, I need it to be newish and have the modern safety/tech gear. And a warranty. This needs to be dependable. The M5 has it all...vented & massage seats, 360 cameras, radar cruise, lane keeping, wicked stereo, etc. It's just really numb.

Going to check out a C63 tonight as everything I read says it rides better and is quieter than the F80 M3 without sacrificing performance.

Here is what the 265/35/18 A052 looks like on my car with an 18x10 et25 wheel and a 5mm spacer. Is this what your looked like?

G80 M3. Like an M5 in a smaller package and not as muted.

@Dreamer99 here's my front driver side, the portion by the door. The part near the bumper doesn't seem to have any rubbing. The passenger side is worse but I can't take a picture right now as it's parked along a wall. Maybe Thursday I'll snap a pic.

18x10.5 ET22 295/30/18 A052. The tire and wheel in the picture are not the A052; it's my all season roller tires

If you can stomach a dodge I would highly recommend a hellcat Durango if you can get one at sticker. Mine was just south of 80k after discounts and it's the most fun I've had with my pants still on, will tow up to 9k and will toast most cars on the road.

I cross shopped it vs sq8,7 and x7 as ideally needed something with 3rd row for extended family and baby on the way. I'll tell you it is not muted and tame 🤠. Something to think about. Doubt you'd ever lose money on it as they're a one year, 2500 quantity production car.

I had 265/35r18s A052s on 18x10et25 (effective et13 offset) wheels up front, with 12mm spacers, and no rubbing. I then removed the spacers because they were causing a vibration, still no problems.

That definitely looks atypical.

Something must be off. I used the AR-1's last season with zero issues. Here is a side picture of my setup.

i have fantasized about a few secondary sports cars. more specifically, a '97 viper gts. the conflict i have is i already have a front engined, rear wheel drive sports car. i'd go something rear-engined. maybe a cayman S?

LOL a Cayman has all of the same problems as the Corvette. I need something that can move people and things around but still be fun.
