Can't stress how important safety gear is, as is checking that your straps are properly tightened. You can get seriously injured if it's not the case! Google "degloved" harness injury if you're curious.

Wow, not exactly what I would have expected "degloved" was referring to . Looks painful.

I'm thinking, what would a loose harness have to do with my gloves

This is either going to capture some great video of differential deflection, or break my GoPro.

Pay attention to the dips and bumps. Barely any ground clearance. Should have someone drive behind you to make sure nothing falls off...

Too late. Only minor scrapes here and there.

this is a quick clip from the vid i just took. i'm going to try to take another video, i think i found a way to raise my gopro a little higher so it doesn't scrape and screw up the angle. you can clearly see the diff and subframe flexing with just moderate acceleration- nothing crazy.

rigged up the camera a little higher so it didn't get scraped. caught some good differential and subframe motion. i was surprised at how much everything moves as a whole. not only is the differential rotating about .25-.50", the subframe and suspension mounts appear to be flexing about the same amount.

solid mounts are going in wednesday, and i'll be making an "after" video. sorry about the sideways video...

A little LOL moment for you guys.

So I'm a tent lead of a group of instructors at Laguna. I get to make the car assignments. Thursday TC Kline is in the "A" group (ya think?) so I naturally "help out" by taking an A student (ok, I took a C too so no one had 3, even though group leads aren't supposed to take more than one student)...

I get in TC's M4 w/his full suspension, carbon brakes, and purple crack on the wheels (Hoosier R7's). He lapped the field twice, all while never getting an inch off a bumper to move someone along or anything obnoxious. Smooth as silk on the controls. Had a ton of fun "instructing" him. My words to TC as I sat down in the right seat: "I'll be your 185lbs of ballast today." He's a very easy going guy who was very helpful explaining why he drove the line he drove. I was useless in the seat so I got out and he ran the rest of the day w/o me (though he took one of my instructors with him on the last session of the day).

Great guy who just was having a ball out there. He was a lot of fun to ride with. Highly recommended.

This not just in: carbon brakes are incredible. Anyone who says the M4 lacks soul just needs to bolt on TC's bits and you'll have more soul than you can handle. Car was incredible w/o being harsh or even slightly rude. Very compliant suspension.

The M2's were out in force and they are properly quick. No doubt this is a fine chassis and the motor pulls hard from low revs to the top of the power band. Rode for a session with another instructor (who is very skilled). Even on PSS', the M2 is blisteringly fast. Lovely exhaust note too, which I was NOT expecting from a turbo car.

BMW has a cubic ton of their race fleet here and it's worth the trip out just to drool on them. A very nice display.

Good times.

I'm signed up for a Bmw experience at the thermal club in a few months. Supposed to be driving the m4... Haven't heard anything since the initial sign up, so I'm not sure how it goes. Do you ever teach at those?

Thanks for sharing! In researching TC's suspension options I've come across a lot of stories about how great of a driver he is, quite impressive. Also, very cool on the M2, hoping to see them out when I return to the track later this month. I think Randy Pobst or someone else said in one of their reviews that thr M2 system with PSS works quite well, they must have really nailed the setup on this car. I actually had a deposit down on one before I got impatient and got my e92 m3. Hope to pick one up down the road still. In test driving the m235i, really like that chassis, feels nimble and quick.

Are you running both days Sat (13CW) and Sun (1CCW)? I may run both days but I'm getting a bit sick of 13CW lol. I'm excited to try out 1CCW though.

Correct. It works just like a HANS, not the Simpson Hybrid. So the QFP straps will hold it in place.
