Just curious, where was the loop broken at?

I've read other posts about the backup camera inconsistently working as well.

With my previous Mr12Volt CIC (P2000-MD) it was working reliably, but would flicker for 1-2 seconds before the video would become stable. With the most recent unit (the new one with the OEM mic support), the same camera does not work consistently.

Note I have tried two different backup camera filters/voltage stabilizers without any change in results.

I just cut the white wire to put the camera into CVBS mode and its now working as expected. I'm fine just leaving it in CVBS mode but was curious if anybody actually has theirs working 100% reliably in AHD mode.
I have the same issue as yours with GreenYi 720p camera in AHD mode.
And wireless mirroring didn't work since iOS17+

Mine is fuzzy sometimes and glitchy sometimes.

I believe the fix is a 12V rectifier as recommended a few times earlier in this thread. I will be ordering one soon.

I tried two different rectifiers, made no difference in my case. Could not get AHD to work reliably.

Ever since changing my backup camera over to CVBS mode its been working 100% reliably. Have not had a single cut out, flicker, glitch, etc and I am not using a rectifier/filter now.

Is there a different camera other than the GreenYi that would be recommended? (seems like some users on here have had issues)

Since I was in there……I also bought a camera for the front. I can get it to work but the image is mirrored. You can see the blue column is on the left of the car under the hood, but it’s showing on the right in the image. Is there a setting to change that? Rear camera and car play working fine so is the wireless charging.

Is this happening consistently? My rear is mirrored but only 1 in 20 times I reverse. 80% of the time it's fine.

Hi all,

Firstly just want to say thanks for everyone’s input into this thread, installed my CIC Mr12Volt yesterday, all went smoothly and worked without an issues.

It’s a 2009 E91 CIC HiFi without a CD changer, so I expected to need to code it, but like many others on here, I didn’t.

Today, I went to code the voice button out so only Siri responds when pressed, but I’m unable to connect to the head unit using BimmerCode or NCSExpert. Pretty sure I was getting an ‘unsupported’ message in BimmerCode and in NCSExpert it would throw an error stating the ‘ECU does not answer CODIERDATEN_LESEN’.

When I bought the car last month, I took a back up of all modules, including the CIC without any issues, so I can only presume the Mr12Volt has coded itself in and somehow corrupted the CIC? Like mentioned, everything when smoothly on install and everything works, so not entirely sure why I can’t connect anymore.

Has anyone encountered this and resolved it? Or have suggestions on how to resolve it? My only idea at the moment is to try to code it back to my backup file and see if it responds to SG_CODIEREN, but really don’t want to brick anything.

Any help greatly appreciated

The new box with factory microphone support must be completely removed to allow you to code CIC. (harness and all) This appears to be due to the way the new version connects with a quadlock adapter.

The previous version did not have this limitation where it only tapped into canbus at the idrive controller.

Thanks. This is good info. I was planning to cut out the adapter harness once the warranty is over. I seem to remember the can bus wires are not twisted in the harness.

Ah, I did contemplate trying this to see if it was the case but didn’t want to go through the fight of putting the head unit back in, was worried I was going to crack one of the fibre optic cables.

That’s a bit of a pain then, no longer able to make changes to the head unit on the fly (not that I did often). Best think of all the options I want coding and plan an afternoon to do it.

Thanks for the info, saves me messing around trying to code it etc.

Is there a recommended set of coding changes to do ahead of the install?

Yes, you should code in the CD changer before you do the install. In my experience, once I did the install, I lost the ability to see the headunit module via Bimmercode. This could be an issue with the adapter that I was using, but I wouldn't take that chance if I had known about it before I did my install.

The specific coding via Bimmercode is at the bottom of post 1 on page 1 of this thread.

Great thank you!! Will make sure I do the coding beforehand then.

Hi,

I recently installed the Mr12Volt MOST Bus BMW CCC M-ASK CarPlay & AA Interface in my manual Pre-LCI E92 335i. I connected two cameras using the yellow RCA cable and 12V wire at the back of the interface but can't get either the front or rear camera to work. Both cameras are grounded to the chassis.

Can anyone confirm if both cameras can function with a manual transmission? Also, do I need to connect the rear camera to the taillight, or is there a way to use the BUS system instead?

Cameras

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

By any chance do you know if the front camera works with a manual transmission?

I do not have personal experience with a front camera. Yes it will work, just depends on how you want to wire it, or how you want it displayed. You could wire it to come on when in reverse, or just wire it and within mr12olt menu can manually bring up the video.

Also, another note on the rear camera, I THINK that if you have rear park distance sensors, you don't need to wire it to reverse light. But don't quote me on that. The logic is the CIC system will already know you are in reerse to trigger that system.

With the front camera, I've tried wiring it to the dedicated front wire trigger and front RCA on the Mr12Volt, but I cannot get it to turn on.

With the rear camera, I just tried connecting it to the black and blue cable next to the brown cable with no luck.
