Are you a jerk behind the wheel? Somehow (and as a personal opinion only, based on reading your stuff), I doubt it. Who cares about other drivers' behavior, no matter the make of car.

One of my sons now drives an M3 (traded in a C63), while the other drives a 911, and you know the old line about Porsche drivers:

Both of my sons are pretty seasoned track guys, confident on the road, but not overly aggressive - and neither of them give the slightest damn what other people think of them based on what they drive.

The only thing M3 drivers should take away from these studies is that they're being mildly pre-judged out on the road, and should drive accordingly.

PS - Drive a Subaru Legacy GT and as a benny, nobody knows you're alive out there unless you punch it. A complete contrast to the E36 and E46 M3s that have graced our garage, each of which got their fair share of somewhat negative attitude from some other drivers.

Actually, I let people in the line up if there is heavy bumper to bumper traffic. Once a guy behind me blows his horn so hard at me when I did. I had to go out and ask him "what's your problem my friend? I'll do the same for you if you were on the side road trying to get in" Then his face turned read as I returned to my car.

One observation I do make when I do this (let someone into the line of traffic) is that sooner or later the fellow I let in will let someone else into the line of traffic

I apparently was being a jerk to my lady this weekend, and she called me out saying, "It's true all BMW drivers are total jerks! I saw an article on Face Book about it!" I said, "Lol! That's old news...bitch!"


I didn't call her that! Lol! I did tell her that is old news and that the article is directed towards BMW drivers driving habits. Not the actual character of the person. She was just being a typical emotional girl anyways. She was calling me a jerk for something like not kissing her toe after she stubbed it on a chair that she didn't push back in or something.

I had a little reminder of the "wages of sin for being a blue BMW driving jerk" the other day. I was on a two-lane freeway transition ramp, behind a couple slower cars. I tried to be a non-jerk but got annoyed and sped up to swoop around the two. Well as I "swooped" I quickly saw some debris in the left lane, and I couldn't avoid it. I heard a metallic clunk.

Wasn't far from home so drove back. Tires seemed ok but I did see that a small protective rubber/plastic strip had come loose from the undercarriage, just in front of the rear axle. I sort of stuck it back on. Drove gingerly that day, waiting for the TPM or other warning lights to go off (on?). Never did. So I got lucky. I hope.

In my previous car, 2006 Lexus IS250, I got "jerky" a couple times and wound up with a ticket I didn't need and a fender bender that was my fault. So all things considered, for selfish reasons, I'd rather not drive like a jerk. But now I am driving a blue BMW, so I guess it's my fate!

This is just way too funny. Its not what you drive and its who's behind the wheel. When I drove my 1982 Tersel or when I drive my bimmer, I'm the same driver that expects people to drive at least 5 miles over posted speed limit when driving in the left lane on the highway.
I think prius drivers are the biggest jerks. They think its OK to go 10 miles under posted speed limit, just because they drive a hybrid.

Any poll taken with American consumers (of news, in this case) has exactly ZERO credibility to say anything about driving. Sorry. 50% of population holding a valid DL in this country (U.S.) should have it revoked NOW. Of the remaining 50%, 2/3 of them are barely good enough to safely steer the car without placing anybody else in danger and/or blocking the flow of traffic. The remaining 1/3 of 50% can be considered "drivers". Little bit too few to take any polls about driving seriously.

This guy can lick my balls with his statistics! Everyone knows people with means(in any arena) wont put up with other peoples shit! We enjoy our cars, and have the tools necessary to fuck with people on the road if they are being assholes(power/handling if applicable to your model). I most often drive between DC and NYC area where all people suck on the road(generally). If your ass is sitting in the left lane just hanging out, Im cutting you off! If you are in a crosswalk listening to your I-pod or texting away just not giving a fuck, Im gonna scare the shit out of you!

DC hands down has the worst traffic in the country. I treat the road like an amusement park! Fuck you if you wanna text your friends and then wanna honk at me for passing you. I pay my taxes, and can drive however I want where I want...If a cop stops me (which never happens thanks to my V1) they will get the same answer(+ Sorry sir, please write me a ticket so I can be on my way)

The other day, some BS traffic started In DC because morons cant merge... So I pulled in the "red lane" (which is only open on rush hour otherwise its a shoulder, yeah right!) Going about 40mph some douche cuts me off in a camaro, because he was to poon-tang to do it himself...so using the incredible agility of my 335, I had to dive in the spot he came out of, pass 2 other cars through some cones and weave back over( which was fairly effortless for me)(no construction was even close so no one was in danger) Once I was in front of him I slammed on my brakes to mess with him, LOL he skidded out and proceeded to to honk and flash his lights...Then the road opened up and he tried to race me, but his attempts to get in front were futile LOL...He then proceeded to follow to my house where I had to stop and draw my pistol(I live in VA and am CCW) I laughed in his face... Moral of the story...Dont fuck with Bimmer drivers! Especially in VA! and watch out for DoVE1, 2, and 3 if you are a lolly-gagging moron, which Im sure none of you are. Have a nice day, and safe driving everyone!
