That actually looks a lot like MR12Volt. Did you store the unit behind the AC Control? It looks like this video is a good install video for Mr12Volt.

Also, I updated my prior post with pictures. I've emailed inquiring what might be causing my iPhone connection issues and about the noisy Bluetooth calling. I may borrow a friend's phone to see if it is our phone or not. Last edited by netcsk; 10-04-2021 at 07:21 AM.. |

Looks like the latest iOS update caused some carplay issues. May be related: https://www.macrumors.com/2021/09/30...ay-issues/amp/

For those having CarPlay issues with iOS15, I found this on website:
https://technclub.com/guides/fix-carplay-not-working/ Fix 1: Disable Equalizer It seems that disabling the equalizer, specifically making sure the Late Night switch is off in the Apple Music settings, solves the problem. To do that follow the below steps: On your iPhone 13 smartphone, open the Settings app. After that go to Music. Now click on EQ and simply click Off. That’s it, this will instantly fix this known issue of CarPlay not working on your iPhone 13 or iOS 15 device. Fix 2: Reset Settings of iPhone 13 There are also many users who have found out that resetting all settings on the iPhone also fixes CarPlay not working issues on your iOS 15 devices. Here’s how to reset all settings in iPhone. On your iPhone 13, open the Settings app. After that click on General Now go to the bottom and click on Transfer & Reset iPhone. After that click on Reset. Now you need to select Reset all settings. That’s it, your iPhone 13 will be reset without any of your apps or files getting deleted. However, you will have to set up location and notification settings all the time when you open a new app. That is all you need to know about how to fix CarPlay not working on iOS 15 or iPhone 13 devices. While you are here, you might be also interested to know that how to use Fall Prevention feature on iPhone 13 with iOS 15. On the other hand, also check how to fix Spotify app battery draining bug on iPhone 13 with iOS 15. |

Recognition issues
Received my unit on Saturday. I had already installed Mic splitter and back up Camera last weekend. Been struggling with Idrive to recognize this unit. Coded to MP3 and still everything greyed out on CD option. Have unplugged and reset few times and still nothing.
Checked Radio and I can hear the music Unit is On and connects to my phone via wifi and/or bluetooth Turn the dip switch #2 down to see if it connects and nothing. CD options does change to uncheck and than to -- whenever I reset. Any other suggestions are appreciated. My car is 09 E90 M3 - Head unit was replaced under warranty in 2015 (if this matters). When coded for MP3 - unit did reset and now states the coding is good. |

Also found this on the web:
https://www.autoevolution.com/news/h...15-170939.html "So the workaround right now is to just disable Private Relay completely, though keep in mind this toggle is only available for those with an active iCloud+ subscription. To do this on an iPhone, open the Settings screen and head over to iCloud. Look for the Private Relay section and tap the toggle to disable it. Users struggling with wireless CarPlay and not having an active iCloud+ subscription are recommended to reset the network settings on their iPhones. This feature is also available in the Settings screen, though if you do want to use it, you should know that by resetting all known network configurations you also remove the existing passwords for Wi-Fi networks. |

On a bright side, I was able to connect with Mr12 Volt rep via a whatsapp last night. He/She went through all the step that were mentioned in this thread and I have a follow up appointment later today. (A+ on customer service so far). Wish someone was local so I can troubleshoot. As of now - not sure it is the wiring, Mr 12 volt unit or my idrive issue. |

Do you get sound out of the CIC? If the controller works, then that cable is plugged in correctly.

CD1 is not showing up. Anytime I reset the unit - it goes from CD -- to CD unchecked to CD--. Controller works as Idrive functions as normal. Sound works - tested by playing Radio. Unit connects to my phone via Bluetooth and Wifi. |

Not a problem; I was only kidding.
Has anyone else had iphone issues or is it just me? I haven't heard back from support on the iPhone and noisy Bluetooth calling issues from a Sunday email and a Whatsapp attempt today, so I'm not sure from their opinion. |

I am having the exact same problem. I tried rewiring everything several times and also tried using the supplied MOST loopback cable in the trunk where the CD changer would go... but still get the same 'unchecked' status. I also double checked the coding and it is correct. I am not sure what else I can do at this point.

Have the same problems using the mic splitter with the Mr12Volt unit. When switching my iPhone to use the OEM BT, then everything is clear. At this point, I'm just hoping a new firmware update addresses the issue, or maybe someone in the forum is able to figure out a solution. To be honest, it's not a big deal to me, since the after a call is completed, Mr12Volt unit switches back right away and music resumes without lag.

Also, is this how you are connecting the LVDS cable? It wasn't clear for me when installing, so maybe this is causing the issue? I think is pink, but could be purple. I'm getting old |

Any suggestions on how to check the software/firmware? Unit is not connecting so can not see that info in idrive. Can this info be accessible directly from the unit? |
