I decided that for 2021 I am going to tune my DCT with Epic 3.62 Tune.

For 2020 I was driving with Alpine's DCT 3.62 tune and the car was great. Upshift were crisp F1 style, No missed shifts and no limp mode.

Alas, I did not have the rev match on down shift.

Per SYT_Shadow and nicksm3 recommendation I contacted Randy from Epic and bought his tune.

Cable should arrive Tue and I will schedule a tune session with Epic Wed or Thu. Friday testing and Sat my first 2021 trackday at LRP.

Alex from Alpine was kind enough to offer retuning the car with his software if Epic's does not work, and also offered to refund the money if Epic does work.

It is essential and very reassuring to know that the vendors that support us also stands by their solutions. It has to be a two way street for this symbiotic relationship to work.

Good luck, hope it works out for you. I did say I would return it to my software if you wish. I never offered to refund you, it has been close to a year you have been running our software.

I have epics 3.62 tune, and works very well on downshifts. I'll have it on track this upcoming weekend for testing, and will report back.

So far, the big 3-2 downshift blip that other companies states they were unable to get back in, is working well. I notice no difference than the 3.15 shifting points, albeit I've only had it on some slow street miles as my car is not street legal at the moment. So, not trying to draw attention to myself.

Wait, i did some investigations and now can change:
- default program and mode
- pressure and torque limits
- shift points
- many logic options
- final drive and wheel ratios

Bin-file XDF Description developed mostly for GTS version, but not a problem to modify it for your current software. You will get 0DA file for winkfp tool which flashes in standard way (about 2 mins) by yourself and fully reversible. PM me if interested.

Any updates from running the Epic 3.62 tune? Considering getting a 3.62 tune for my car but am not sure whether it’s worth it or not. Car has had a Dinan 3.62 diff for over 100k miles so I don’t even remember if the downshift blips are lacking.

Thats awesome!! Would you say the Epic is a noticeable improvement as compared to Alpine's offering? Debating which option to go with now.

I think we are fully done with our 3.62. All the guys testing are happy. I am sure they can chime in. If you like to go back to our update message me

Alex,
As I told you, I don't mind trying your 3.62 code again, however, I need to get agreement from Epic to recode the Epic if yours does not work as well. We can take it off line

I like where all this is headed but, for me I need more convincing and or seat time in a car with a custom diff with coding that can match the GTS coding in terms of crisp up shifts and blip rev matching downshifts. Otherwise I am going to continue to run my perfect OEM gears and GTS TUNE.

Glad to hear you've received positive feedback. Will be giving your 3.62 tune a try after I finish up some other projects on the car over the next few weeks.

For those on the fence about 3.62.
from personal experience this issue is not a straight forward. I will try to list the factors that contribute to the confusion. First, this is not about the ratio itself. That you have to decide as a separate issue from the shifting.

Track (high rpm)
1. Shifting up - on time or delayed
2. Shifting down - on time, Blipping, blipping timing

Around town (low rpm)
1. Shifting up delays
2. Shifting down quality (slipping the clutches or Formula One)

Consistency
Does it do it the same, or differently given about the same scenario.

In addition to the 3.62 tune, there is the issue of DCT fluid. If you don't have extra 1L (GTS filling) the tune can be confused with starvation, especially coming into T1 at NYST, LRP and PMP.

Given the factors above, it is difficult to get a straight answer and also difficult to give tuners the correct feedback.

So, if you want to go to 3.62 on DCT transmission, you want to optimize gear 6 and 7 in places like PMP and WGI. without 3.62 I don't think anyone is using 7th gear anywhere. At the same time, with 3.62 you hardly use 2nd gear.

If you do decide on 3.62 then the most important factor is for the tune to shift down in a timely matter. The second important factor is to blip and blip correctly as you come to T1 because you don't want to upset the balance of the car as you approach T1.

Hope this helps

Haven't posted a lot of new footage - been more testing than racing lately. Ought to be some one lap stuff in my build thread in the track section though.

We are I promise!

Huge improvement with a good diff! And 3.62 can and has been done properly. Not sure I would do it on a street/track hybrid - but for a dedicated track car to me it is a no brainer. Would rev too high for my tastes on the highway in a street car.

Links to a couple of the latest vids (assuming I didn't botch it...)

Beautiful driving!
Ok reviewing your videos, car sounds epic and looks plated
Ok now to what my issue is...I see and hear some delay..but also on your Gear Indicator that's in-front of you. That would drive me nuts.
