70 k on OEM rod bearing's car also run's perfect....as the
///M whisperer mentioned...also just for the moment

Im a combination driver. Sometimes I get on it hard and sometimes i'm docile. Depends on the situation or if i'm pumping my underground house music.

I get into the redline more often than not.

Every 7500 miles i change my oil. I use Liquimoly.

2011 E90 Daily driver 42k, original rod bearings. Last oil report from blackstone showed that everything looked great. I let the cold start cycle then don't rev it past 4-5 at most until it's warmed up.

Goes like a champ, love my car.

same for me. I won't rev it high until the needle gets near the center.

Is your car DCT or 6MT? How do you think it's performing? There is some research to indicate that one transmission affects bearings more than the other. Performance is usually the tell tale sign.

Does there appear to be a connection between anything and failure rate, at this point, other than the data showing that the newer bearings fail sooner than the old ones (on average)?

Not especially....cars that have a history of tracking are over represented and there seems to be a tendency for cars in a hot climate to fail at a slightly higher rate than those in cooler climates. But thats about it.

2013 here with 15k miles. Rod bearings destroyed and sent metal shavings into the engine. Motor being replaced under warranty.

Still on the original bearings...on my second motor.

2013 M3, first motor bearings went out at 6700 miles. Engine replaced under warranty.
