Usually, kids who are in International Baccalaureate (IB) program has to allocate their time on IB classes to get all their exam to get their criteria and exam done.

AP classes were boring him, I think. Being able to pick some IB classes, without the whole criteria of testing, etc. appealed to him. Plus it leaves him time for baseball practice and still getting homework done while having zero period class. Poor kid has to wake up at 5:30, just like mom and dad now so that he can stay in the baseball program. He was quoted as saying, since his brother drops him off on the way to his own college classes "I have to get dropped off before even the janitors get to school"

Good news, he had to stay late for Varsity practice yesterday, they need an extra catcher even though he really doesn't want to catch. Get on the team, catch bullpen, worm his way into the outfield.

Most people who know her would say she has impeccable taste.

At any rate, her taste is not what would be featured in the video. You could get some new home accessories and show everyone what really good taste looks like.

I hope my kid will be self-motivating when she is in HS.

If AP is boring him, tell the school to enroll him into some local community/city college courses. I've seen Soph in Highschool kid taking ODE (Ordinary Differential Equation). Whereas it is typical MIT Soph Engineering level math.

There are some univs which they STILL strongly asks freshman student to not to skip the course , because they took AP course. So, I think little community/city college would be better to transfer credit to major univs.

You need to make sure she finds a "smart" friend. My son took the IB classes, at least in part, because one of his buddies signed up with him. As fair trade, my son has been trying to motivate him to join one of the sports teams.

Going to college would be great once he has his license. A previous GF of his had enough credits as a sophomore to graduate, but her mom was on disability and could take her to the local college. She only stayed in high school so she could be in the band

I sincerely hope my kid will have great friend and self-motivated.

We live in a decent neighborhood but newly built. So we are sharing middle school and highschool with rural area. There was initiative to build more middle and highschool, but I voted NO.

That being said, Elementary school is good here, but middle/high is just average. As you mentioned, school doesn't matter, but it is friend what matters. I had dumbass friends when I was going to highschool in CA, but had a great smart friends in CO. That helped me astronomically. Infrastructure in CO school is FAR superior than top highschool in CA. All indoor, and even cafeteria can accommodate about 800 people indoor. amazing places.

The thing about IB is (if i recall from ~20-22yrs ago) it is AON (all or none) type of structure. I recall IB Calc was far easier than AP Calc BC , and IB Physics was far easier than AP Phys C. AP Chem was same. I think IB had to do little more organic chem, so O.chem side, it was stronger.

We got actual quarter grades last night, still 4.0 and 4.57. He swapped around an A- for A+, still has A+ in IB Econ.

Also told me he has to stay late on Friday to practice with the varsity team
