Replaced my old-ass tints with 70% ceramic all the way around. The drive home in high 80s heat with the a/c barely on was a nice feeling, worth every penny here in FL.

Suck out what you added via the filter. Drive for a few days and let the friggin level sensor calm down. Top up. If you added 8.8L in the first place the engine is happy regardless what the sensor says, although it is very frustrating mean while.

Or don't worry about it. If it's like my M it will be back down to the min in less than 500 miles.

Recalls! Just got it back from the dealer. Went in for the blower motor and positive battery cables. I was so afraid that they would take my car out for joy rides, service rep was cool but he was quick to state that they rarely get to see one of these anymore.

Lucky guy. I drop 3L every 5k. No leaks found with dye test and compression test came back solid.

so where the hell does all that oil go???

Yeah, I can usually go 5k+ miles without using up a full quart of extra oil

I think it comes down to usage (from my experience). I've been WFH since last March and have gone from 45 miles a day to maybe 100 a week, and my engine is drinking oil with all the short trips to the stores and whatnot. I was about 1.5 quarts every 5k and I've put 2 qts in 3k since my last oil change a year ago.

Two performance shops have no idea. Not a single leak. New oil cap. Clean exhaust tips.

Swapped to a set of Bridgestone s007a's (which was described to me as in between the Pole Position and Re-71r) mainly because I got a pretty good deal from Tire Rack. $700 for a set vs $1200ish for PS4S.

Figured I'd give them a try.

So far they're very comparable to the PS4S tires I was running before (in the wet at least).

Looking forward to dry weather to really put them through some windy roads.

Ignore the messy garage (moving in)

What's my best option? I live in West LA

Drive my wife's car and go to a market tonight and see if they carry any generic engine oil?

Drive my wife's car tonight to a Walmart (far drive) and get some oil there?

Go to the dealership in the morning? Gotta check if they open that early... Plus i would need to drive my m3 as I won't have my wife's car available then
I had a similar issue after my first oil change after buying it. The oil level sensor needs some time to adjust. For me, I knew I put the exact right amount of oil in. None leaked out, none leaked all over the engine bay. After 2 days of inaccurate reading, the computer finally caught up and read the appropriate (full) oil level. Be careful adding too much and overfilling

Same here, first oil change said it was overfilled. I knew I didn't over fill it because I only had 9 bottles to begin with and filled as close to 8.8 as I could with a bit left in the last bottle of oil.

Few days of driving and it corrected itself. Though it did concern me being new to the car and not knowing it's unique quirks.

Like the perks of no dipstick for some damn reason

Just want to warn you that you can pop both bolts, but you will never get all the oil out of your engine, so even with 8+ bottles, there is a chance you overfilled.

What? The S65 has an 8.8L fill spec. Every oil change, I drain oil, replace filter and add 8.8L (9.3QT).

There is zero chance that 1L of oil is not going to come out of the engine when properly drained.

Yes, you are correct the S65 does have 8.8 liter oil capacity.

I am trying to nicely warn you that you could pop both bolts wait a week and you aren't going to get all 8.8 liters out.

Well, my latest modifications have been to install a carbon fiber front lip and new wheels. I have also polished the entire body
