From what I understand it boils down to more aggressive and less intrusive traction control management, letting you have a bit more fun before it intervenes.

GOFAST M3 comments are correct, Euro spec reduces 'nanny' intervention.

I requested a new engine tune and accidentally clicked the option for "Launch Control (for manual cars only)"

I have a DCT. I need to request a new engine tune right? Just asking because I would prefer not to wait another 3 days to request another engine tune.

Thanks

It's a code that wasn't written by lawyers.

I wanted to add a follow up to my question regarding the Euro MDM coding... Since my last comment, I purchased the Alpine tune (stage 2) with Euro MDM and DCT flash...This is how these cars should come out of the box!
Driving it for the first time after the tune was amazing - not kidding when I say I had a smile the whole time! The Euro MDM makes this car so much more fun when out on those spirited drives.
And the GTS DCT tune makes this car feel so smooth when shifting through the gears.
Highly recommend this tube and coding combo!

Are ARM processors compatible with these tunes? Website only says Windows is required.

How do I enable the valet mode for this tune? Currently running stage 2 on a catless x pipe. I was curious to try out the burbles but can someone expand on how harmful they are on the motor?

Unfortunately, valet mode requires flashing ECU...not readily accessible for 'on the fly' on/off selectivity.
To resume Stage II etc, must reflash again.
> Valet mode, red line is reduced to 4000RPM with limited power & protection for low octane fuels.
No experience with burble tunes. IMO, intuitively, likely unfavorable for engine health/longevity.

Ah okay, thanks. Do we just request that thru the regular motor request? I also read some comments of a cold start rev protection? Does that also keep the limit the rpm at 4k until the oil is fully warmed and the sensor reads a level? I always keep my car under 2.5-3k until it's fully warmed but it would be a nice failsafe in case someone else is driving

I'm staying away from burbles given it's port injection. I bought the car at 18k miles with intentions of going into the high six figures. No need for unnecessary strain and I also think it sounds better this way. It was more of a curiosity

Correct - Valet mode, a separate map request

As for e9X, no known map option for cold start rev protection.
What is possible, removal of cold start routine [higher rev idle setting on start-up] intended for cat-delete exhaust configs.

Loaded Alex stage 1 yesterday, did some more driving today: in freezing temps the car pulls strong regardless but it certainly feels stronger like folks says in the low/mid range. We'll see how it works at full power/high revs ones Summer tires are back on.
Noticed different/less DCT rev match, assumingly after the engine adaptation was cleared, any one else noticed the same? Maybe comes back with the DCT GTS flash, which I haven't done just yet.

As reported Alex is a good guy to deal with, quick to the point "engineer type" replies to all questions.

Edit: also noticed the oil level went back up to full from half. Again assume has to do with the adaptation was cleared.

Try code M3LIST. I forgot how much the discount is, but it is only applicable to tunes.

Any Diagnostic Software that can work with the cable provided by Alex?

Im wanting to look at certain values from the engine. I had emailed Alex asking if there was a diagnostic software available and got no response

Are you trying to get AFR, oil temperature, etc? You can try a bluetooth obd2 and a phone app such as Torque - although antiquated at this point. There should be other more modern options as well.

Things suck as o2 sensor values or voltage , fuel trim , etc. I had an OBDLinkCX but it wasn't able to show me exactly everything I wanted

Following up on this, if I understand Zed117 correctly, becuase I ahve the same question-

Can you use the cable that comes with your Alpine tune to connect to other programs like bmw tools INPA etc and ecuwerx?

I have a green pcb k+dcan cable for that, but am wondering if I can give the cable to my friend if I purchase an Aplinemss tune.

Thanks

The tune cable can only tune the vehicle. It cannot code the car with bmw standard tools (ncs expert, tool32, inpa etc)

Thank you!

One more question re: Alpine tune -

Is euro MDM seperate from increased servotronics? The website adn what I've read so far isn't clear. I'm only confused because you can mod your servotronics (2011 e90 cic) in the MDM section.

I'd like the euroMDM for 7% slip versus u.s. 5%, but I don't want even heavier steering

Yes, euro mdm is separate from seevotronics

Oops, one more question - has anyone modded their Alpine BIN later, after the fact, to do coding (not tuning parameters) like euro mdm, disable tpms, gts dct tune etc?

I think that would mean the tuned bin is not encrypted by Alpine? And changing some parameters within the bin, unrelated to tuning, wouldn't affect anything?

I tried coding on my evolve tune (e46) and it was locked/encrypted.
