While I was in there, I found a really, really bad wheel bearing, and couldn't get the axle out as it was seized stuck. I had to source a new axle, hub and spindle. Figured well I have half the crap out, might as well pull the subframe anyways. Glad I did because to swap the upper control arm you have to pull the subframe anyhow to get the bolt out. Fml.

Needless to say it's pretty much all stripped out. 100% SPL new arms, bearings, all solid bushings, Hk sway bars, core4 hubs, 3.62 drexler 8 clutch diff, new center support bearing and guibo. It's been some work!

I should have everything wrapped up within the next few weeks, have sourced all my parts just in need of the diff (carrier just landed from driftflo and is scheduled to be assembled next week. I work 99% solo, so I have to get creative on how to do some things. My wife helps me wrench the other 1% of the time. Cant say I regret any of it, with 164k miles everything has had some wear back there. I'm glad I got to tackle all of it and put a nice refresher on the back end.
I love everything about this picture and post! I'm in the same boat of wrenching solo which I don't mind. Kinda meditative!

It's still super surreal to me that I have it. I started building it nearly 3 year ago and it's been totally functional for about a year now. I got into cycling and filled a corner out with rack and weights. It fills up quite quickly

It was straightforward, but I also didn’t push back on what they offered. I think I had to fill out one short form to start the process, all through an online portal that was set up for all my claims.

If you disagree with their offer, then you have to put in the work by hiring your own firm to come up with an estimate of how much value you lost. It seemed like that cost a few hundred and take a bit more time and I imagine even then they wouldn’t just give you the higher value. This was just my experience, I think the party at fault had Geico insurance so that is who I dealt with.

What's worse is mrs. derbo knows about cars, so you can't BS anything with her either, especially fluff mods.

Mrs beef found a titanium hardware invoice once. Almost killed me. And she's convinced she married an idiot.

I always have Mrs. Over guess what she thinks something costs, so I know how much I'm in the clear to spend. Fortunately for me it's usually way over cost hahah.

All my mods are safety mods. Even tires and aero. Babe - they can't hit me if I am way in front of 'em.

We have always kept a shared account for shared expenses and our own separate accounts for our personal spending. No comments from her on car mods and I don't comment on hand bags or shoes. Win win.

I wound up deciding to go with m12 Core4 all around. ARP as that's all he's got in stock at the moment.

I think its overpriced but at the same time probably worth it if a local shop would charge more. I tried to splice the wires myself and didn't do a good enough job.
