You should get good gains from both full Akra or AA systems.
I suspect you are correct that not much power comes from axle back systems, surely you get 5-7 hp plus a better sound, no?

Don't full systems result in emissions testing problems?

I'd love to add some power to the car and add some noise too. Audi RS4 or Merc C63 make just about the right amount of noise for me M3 is too quiet at low RPM. My brother was telling me he thought the M3 exhaust must have a valve that opens up at high RPM due to the difference in sound from low to high RPM's. I know he's wrong, but...

As far as power goes, I suspect that it's more about ego than anything else since I rarely have the pedal right down to the metal anyway.

I doubt it will even give you 5 to 7hp to be honest. Mufflers alone don't do much, except reduce weight and change the sound.
You will love the Akra set up.
I can help with you with emissions.

I personally did not install it myself, but I understand the fitment is great and the install went well. No smell inside the cabin, havent noticed any outside of the car either.

Power across the band seems to be very good, definitely noticeable IMO.
