Top Gear USA premiere tonight! History Channel (thoughts and reviews)

I'll keep watching. I am a "glass is half full" kinda guy. I find it good that we even have someone trying to make a TGUS. If we are lucky it will succeed. Remember probably 85% of the viewing public don't even know what top gear is, so this hopefully was the coolest thing for car enthusiasts.

I agree it got a lot better. I still think the other 2 guys are uselss and nobodies. But the show was def better and I see the potential as well.

Last nights episode had some good camera shots and the blind guy was great. Other than that these three have nothing going on, and Adam is way too annoying. The guy is not funny, and is trying too hard to be funny. Adam Carolla was a 100x better Choice as lead host. He actually knows about cars and has better delivery and timing, unlike the current tarded Adam.

Just watched the episode from last night and I agree with you. The show got a million times better and I definitely laughed a couple of times. I really like Tanner and think he is a good driver(liked him in his other show on Speed) but the other two I am still not so sure of. The one guy is sort of funny but the two of them don't seem too knowledgeable.

I will continue to watch and support the series and hope it gets better with time.

I couldn't believe how they tried to make it identical to the original. Not sure that really works... The hosts flat out suck! They are trying way to hard to be cool and funny, and they are neither. I'm not even sure they can drive...

Tanner can drive the shit out of any car. He has that ability but his Hosting ability is lacking. I have seen him drive at drift competitions and at special events. His car control is very good. The other two are useless behind the wheel. Adam cant even drive a stick properly. The other guy just looks like dude that works in the lumber section at Home Depot.

Yeah I especially enjoyed it after watching a rerun of the episode where they TGUK guys bought the American beaters and took all those shots at Americans, where they drove from Florida to Louisiana. Pretty cool if "our guys" can jab back, but they still have a lot of cred to earn before they'll actually be acknowledged or carry any weight with their comments. A bit of verbal sparring and jest between the two would be pretty cool, but we're still a long way from that. It would be really nice to have a sort of sibling rivalry though.

Tanner is my favorite host on the show actually, much in the same way I like Tiff Needell. I just respect his driving ability, so I'm able to forgive the lack of on screen charisma because of his expert opinion.

Agreed. The one dude couldn't even do a burnout for f's sake! Haha how hard is it to dump the clutch and keep your foot on the gas? Apparently too hard for that jack ass.

In a weird way, I have to agree that it is getting better, chemistry and jokes could improve but I have to say that it is now worth watching. Each episode has gotten better.

Its a bit funny that Rut with his pure redneck obsession..."can I hug it" (The Ford F-150)? And he's gonna lick it...

And felt kinda awesome that Adam game some bad review of the SLS...the rear is half ass job - not finished...and the gull wing is stupid...more like a classic wanna-be....but gave some good review of the engineering and the engine....

given its a show "sponsored" by Mercedes....

not saying its better than UK Top Gear....but there's a few good races and reviews...and building their own chemistry between characters....

btw...i wish they can do better on the "Star in small car"...do a bit more in-depth interviews...and feel free to mock or disagree....they need to stop agreeing and impress the guest....

If it wasn't called top gear a lot of you guys would love watching it because frankly, there is no other car show on TV that's better. If you do not compare it to the original, it is a very good show.
