I didn't see it at first either, hence the EDIT on what I initially said.

Sorry about the OT, but does anyone want to sell their OEM switch - just the one with two blank buttons. Must not have scratches/look perfect. Please PM price shipped to NY.

more DIY pics
I know that some members have already posted DIY pics, but i figured i'd post some as well. I just did this a few hours ago. As far as difficulty is concerned, this is a 1 or 2 out of 10. It took less than 10 minutes. a set of plastic pry tools will help out a lot.
1) i purchased the new part through the dealership i used to go to in Germany. i am going to put a feeler out as to whether other members would be interested in a GB, because I can get these through a source in Germany, and I know that they are not available through US channels yet. 2)remove the air conditioning vent (there are two friction clips) 3) pull the light control switch out and disconnect the clip in the back 4) push down on the four clips that hold the switch in the plastic trim piece 5) put the new switch in the plastic trim and use a pry tool to push up on the plastic clips and lock them into place 6) put the new switch assembly back in place 7) put the air con vent back in place and test

I don't see why not...I'm pretty sure you can pop the fog button off and swap them. Or you could just pop the silver selector knob off the 09 switch and put it on the 08 (but I haven't seen that done before, so I'm not sure).

Hey guys, I just made a thread for a feeler for the 2009 rear fog switch:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...22#post5410122 Cost is $115 shipped. I know that is a lot, but I can't get a better deal through the German dealership. Maybe these will come available through tischer or somebody else in the States, and maybe they'll be able to offer a cheaper deal. Also, here is the regular 2009 switch without rear fogs: $123.14 http://www.getBMWparts.com/ and use P/N 61319169396

That's not a lot; that's basically what I paid for my '08 switch (I like it better all black myself). All switches cost the same, '08/'09, no fogs, front fogs, rear fogs, or front/rear fogs. I ordered from Tischer. It's a lot of money for a darn switch, yes, but won't get any cheaper than that IMO, so go for it gang. Good day.

So, has anyone taken a look at the guts of this switch, and made a guess on how easy it would be to access the 'spare' button on top of the rear fogs button?
I've got a use for it all lined up... just need to be able to access that button! |

Anyone have the part number for FRONT and REAR fogs, for 2009? (I want the actual rear fogs, am going to try to use the front fogs for something else, and of course, want the shiny switch like I currently have) |

How about for an 09 car WITH front fog switch (and rear of course) and no thumb wheel? (I've been chasing this part for some time now and can't find it).

Just FYI...If you are looking to get ANY Eurp Switches, you better get one of the last remaining at www.LeatherZ.com as they had some E9x (both fron & rear fog) in stock (I get mine tomorrow) as BMW has disallowed E9X Euro switches into the US.

I got the 08 M3 switch with rear fog from leather Z and took the little plastic piece out of it along with the button that has the rear fog icon on it and put it in my 09 switch. It was expensive for just those 2 pieces but it was easy and I got exactly what I wanted.

OK, I have a question. Do any e90/2/3 M3s have FRONT fog lights from the factory? I figure they must be required somewhere in the world. If so, what do they look like? Are they part of the main headlight assembly or are they separate like "regular" e90/2/3s?

No, coz one side of the front bumper opens to the oil cooler, the other opens to the intake.
