Hm. Subscribing to this thread. I always thought the calipers were puny for the price and performance of the car. Even subies, evos, and ford rs has brembos stock
Waiting to hear more feedback but definitely want to splurge on a set. |

The brakes performed well at the track today...Laguna Seca in the wet and I didn't crash is always a good day! lol Gonna start on my review now, will be posting it up soon.

I believe he said they came with Hawk HPS 5.0 or something like that.
Good street pads, and will hold up to very very light tracking, but, if you're going to track, would seriously recommend something better. I think a BREMBO Caliper Upgrade, combined with a true 2-Pc Rotor, would do great. However, you'd be looking at BBK Pricing at that point, so why bother with a pieced together setup. |

Front Calipers w/ Brackets/Lines/Hawk HPS Pads - $1,650.00 ECS 2-Pc Front Rotors - $700.00 Rear Calipers w/ Brackets/Lines/Hawk HPS Pads - $1,200.00 ECS 2-Pc Rear Rotors - $750.00 You'd be looking at a total of: $4,300.00 Can find lightly used StopTechs for that price. I reckon, for a bit more, you could buy brand new ST60/ST40 setup? I could be wrong though. That's with the cheapest 2Pc Rotors on the market. If you go with PFC, or any of the other ones, it gets significantly more. |

I haven't seen a a cheap second hand one and which would be highly used and pretty much worn out so new pads and discs would've needed vs ak's caliper kit, new pads and discs
And ecs is or was doing a special on their discs this week Not saying stop techs or ak's are better or not but if on a budget you wouldnt be far of or on par with performance |

$3,500.00, 4000 Miles. Oh, for sure, the AK/ECS setup is cheaper, with like 80% of the performance I would say, but, I'm just saying, if I were to spend $4,300.00, why not spend a bit more, and get something that was designed and built together is what I mean. |

These brakes are beautiful, but i'm still not entirely a fan of the "old style" lambo calipers used here. I also don't believe we've seen a brake bias calc done yet? I think if there were done, it would help sell more of these?
Calipers from a lambo/audi front and porsche caliper rears may work, but they may not be ideal for a more serious racer. I'm not saying these are bad, I just wouldn't buy them if my car was a track rat, especially for the money. I'd rather spend a few more and get stoptechs designed for my car.

I personally do around 5 track events a year, if you could afford to do more than that then you can definitely afford to buy the kits provided by Brembo or StopTech as trackdays aren't cheap by any means! lol If my car was a track only car, I'd definitely save the $$$ for Brembos or StopTechs. This Brembo caliper upgrade is ideal for the street only driver, street with mild track use driver or hell...even the car show dude who wants flashy brakes. For what you pay for this kit, you can't beat the deal for what you get. Pic of my car from today because I feel like it. Cheers! IMG_6824 by dj_dub, on Flickr

The only thing that holds people back from buying this kit is a good review and some proper testing against a well known brand
I tracked my car on stock 1m brakes and you just have to brake a little earlier but using 18's gets you a better tyre choice with more grip so you can hold more corner speed. A nice square setup mated to these brakes is going to be a well balanced setup and at a huge cost saving Last edited by martymil; 12-15-2016 at 11:37 PM.. |

I'm liking the sound of this kit too. I only do a couple track days a year and would like the simple pad change allowed by these calipers. Looking forward to a full review.

The new setup will have piston area f/r balance almost the same as stock
OEM w/60mm front, 46mm rear pistons = 2827mm2 (f) / 1661mm2 (r) - f/r balance 0.588 Lambo/new porsche setup = 5677 mm2 (f) / 3215 mm2 (r) - f/r balance 0.566 The new f/r balance noted above isn't much of a change with the Brembo calipers. I read on the stoptech website that their BBK moves the braking bias slightly to the rear (compared to stock). Last edited by Dreamer99; 12-07-2016 at 05:18 PM.. |

Seems too simple to me too but there's guys adding a front BBK like the ST40 and using it with OEM rears without issue so it can't be too scientific.
