Hey guys, first post on the M3 forums. Hopefully my wannabe BMW can hang with you guys. Great thread! The 1'er forums don't have much going on in terms of track/autoX/and racing, so it's fun checking in here.

^ Wow, I think that's the biggest slip angle I've ever seen.
Welcome!

you've probably got a bit more grip than a stock 135i.

Here's a video of me not so much doing "saves" but playing around with slip. That day was hot as hell and the AD08s got greasy as soon as I go for a hot lap so I decided to push them even harder and play around with the limits of the tire. If you are bored, you can watch the whole session. If you want to skip then skip to the 15:00 mark for that lap, I was trying to catch a soccer mom in her gold 328 station wagon and might have been especially aggressive

A heroic save? Nope. That was the 2nd of a rare 2 spin weekend.

Not an example of "save."
What an amateur - almost no counter-steering (or, very little) as the backend steps out. Thought I was watching an event at Buttonwillow, lulz. http://www.rallye-magazin.de/videos/...axi/index.html

Not a save...just playing around. Conti scrubs are a little trickier than NT01s. Quote:

Dunno, when they did break loose (@ 0:17), they seem to break loose pretty good. Just do it @ 0:14 mark next time.

Believe it or not...I'm actually trying to reign in the drifting a bit. And you, Sir, are not helping.

Hah. My goal is to some day do a tandem extended drift with Kaiv (re: his "world class drift" @ ACS).

Here's why you don't run "street/track" pads on a slow brake heavy track with a 3900lb whale of a car
Oops...kind of missed the whole point of this thread (fail)...well, in this case the gravel "saved" me from crashing into those trees (of course w/o track insurance this time)
