Another happy MRF customer here with the subframe mounts and delrin diff mounts.
yes there is a whine and its only really noticeable because of the higher frequency with a radio on its in the background and its barely perceptible and it really doesn't annoy me. I think though this is a real subjective issue. As everyone else reports the rear end is planted.. its like driving another car when under heavy acceleration and shifting. I really cant wait to see how this feels on the track. I thought when I got coilovers about 5000 miles ago that it was an awesome addition, in my mind so far this matches it at least and if my driving skills were better I think it would surpass it as far as how predictable and confidence inspiring the rear end feels now. Malek is the man and if you are on the fence on this, I say go for it. |

I think you're going to get a little more whine no matter which bushings you use if you want a stiffer option. You could always just replace your OEM ones with new ones. I'm still 1000 hours out from when I can give you a fair assessment.

I opted for solid diff mounts on my personal car with a Delrin rear bushing, as I have discussed before that having a solid bushing on the rear carrier mount is a big no-no and will add a lot of stress to the differential housing which is a much softer aluminum and it will break either with time or with excessive drive-train shock.

Thanks for the info, Malek. Interesting that the Powerflex did not alter the sound much. I vaguely recall you mentioning before that fluid made a difference, but it sounds (pun intended) like we're probably going to have to live with the whine.
On a related topic, do you recommend upgrades to any of the other suspension bushings in order to maintain balance on a car that has the solid subframe and solid/Delrin differential bushings? I know that Powerflex sells poly bushings for pretty much every bushing under the car. That's probably overkill but at the same time, in my limited experience, I find that when you reinforce one area you sometimes amplify weaknesses elsewhere. |

I had the MRF sub frame bushings installed and the turner dif bushings....The important part of this post is that I fell they fix all the issues with the rear end...wheel hop, float, etc...
However, it is a sales tool for harrop because you car does sound like it has a screw compressor on it. |

Finally got them in. I drove to Houston to have ABR do the install. After spending 3 hrs in the car driving it home, I can say that this is money well spent. The rear end feels leaps and bounds better. Before, during hard acceleration, I could feel the car have a slight swaying motion from the rear as it struggled for traction. Although the traction light never comes on, the movement is definitely noticeable. After the install, that slop is gone. Acceleration comes with no lateral movement out back.
As for the whine that everyone seems to have issue with, it's nowhere near as bad as advertised, at least not for me. I was anticipating I was going to hear something that I would possibly grow to resent, but that's not the case. I have a stock exhaust right now, and with the stereo on, most of the time I didn't hear it. When you mash the accelerator down, you can hear the diff, but it reminds me of a s/c'er on low, low volume. When cruising @ a 75-90mph clip, it was *faintly* audible. I'll GoPro a video over the next few days. Last edited by whats77inaname; 06-18-2014 at 11:01 AM.. |

I'm tempted to go ahead and pick up the parts just so it pushes me to get this done soon and not keep pushing it back. Below are the shops I was looking at that I believe are more than qualified to do it right.
