I've returned engine oil 4 times now
transmission fluid once

next will be brake fluid and differential fluid

getting better at packaging and shipping each time
now i feel committed and can't stop

It's a great business model! The word of mount advertising is incredible, plus they're generally charging MSRP for parts others heavily discount.

The number of people that exercise the return / replace warranty is probably less than 1%.

Even if they intend to, maybe they've sold the car or just can't be bothered with the return shipping.

I use it for trans, diff, filters, plugs, O2 sensors. Though I try to give all my business to them.

TBH I have gone longer with no ill effects (18 months). My car has a shitload of brake cooling so that's certainly reducing any potential fluid fade.

IIRC Castrol lists on the bottle 18months as the recommended flush interval.

I just do it with my annual oil change to make it simpler to ship back to FCP..lol

i'm ashamed to admit this ...
but i'm over 2 years on my SRF brake fluid
approximately 21k miles
the shop used SRF when i got my stoptech installed
and then i never got around to changing the brake fluid

i've done all the other maintenance
swapped brake pads out 2 times for track and autocross
even swapped out both TAs with a friend
just totally slipped my mind that i needed to change the brake fluid

I started doing this when buying Ate blue was cool. SRF is my go to brake fluid now.

I haven't tried the Endless fluid, though a friend used it on his E92M3 and now uses it in his 991 GT3 on track and swears by it.

My old E90M3 on stock brakes with no extra brake cooling did COTA and then Laguna, 3 days each, instructor run group, no fade, no bleeding, no muss, no fuss. Then I moved to DC and ran Summit main for 2 days as a student (well over a year later, went as a student due to skill atrophy and being a new track) and still had no issues. PFC08 pads all around.

I have a sealed bottle in the garage but I no longer track. Saving it for when I get done with the leased 330GT and get something more fun (e.g., when I retire next year).

I think SRF is the best solution for those who don't want to bleed all the time.

Endless fluid appears to have a consensus of having the lowest compressibility giving the best pedal feel.

Look at Torque RT700/Prospeed 683 Xtreme if you like low compressibility. Apparently it has a safer pH than Endless does.

Well I threw in 1120lb/in rear springs, and 95A engine and trans with the help of Vybz, to prep for a rare winterish track day after a couple months off. It appears that 95A trans mounts are f'ing nuts.

Are you going to casually track when you retire? That's when I plan to do the most tracking...

Second time I've installed the 95a transmission mounts in my car for an upcoming track day, DCT car and NVH is insane! Plan to pull them back out after the track day but curious if they will simulate firmer engine mounts since I am on OE engine mounts currently. Much easier install than engine mounts at least.

Have you tried putting back in the softer stock rear mount only to see if it helps with NVH?

Yeah 95a in the trans for a car that's on the street is a lot... I lasted 2 days before pulling them. The 80a is hardly noticeable or at least all the other noises in my car drown them out.

How can liquid be compressed?

Because the braking system is not completely devoid of gas and there is a small amount of dissolved gas in the brake fluid. Here is what Torque/Prospeed say:

Compressibility
This is not a specific DOT call-out, yet it is critically important to racers and enthusiasts. It is listed in SAE J1705, Appendix A, A.2.2.8, under the heading, "Air Solubility." Here it states, “Air Solubility – It has been reported that dimethyl polysiloxane fluid, which is a major part of silicone-based, low water-tolerant type brake fluids can typically contain dissolved air at a level of 16% ±3% by volume at standard temperature and pressure. This compares with a typical level of 5% ±2% by volume of dissolved air for glycol ether based type fluids. An increase in brake pedal travel may be experienced under severe operating conditions, especially at higher altitudes and high temperature conditions."

"The term “dissolved air” (air absorbed from the atmosphere) should not be confused with the term “entrapped” or “free air” since their effects on brake system performance can be entirely different. Air that has been absorbed from the atmosphere does not result in an increase in fluid or system volume, whereas entrapped air or free air does occupy system volume and can be easily compressed when force is applied to the system.“

The SAE standard continues, “A.2.2.8 – Compressibility – Silicone based brake fluids are more compressible than conventional brake fluids and the difference is magnified at higher temperatures.” Silicon-based brake fluids are described by DOT 5 (not to be confused with DOT 5.1), which should never be used in a racing vehicle due primarily to its compressibility.

Compressibility is largely ignored by those selling nearly all the brake fluids on the market -- and with good reason! It is better you aren’t told that their fluid could contain as much as 7% dissolved air!! Once they are tested specifically for compressibility, it is no surprise that certain "high end” racing fluids are known in the paddock for their poor pedal feel.

A research report published by Union Carbide demonstrates a relationship between the compressibility of a brake fluid and its density (or specific gravity). The greater the density of a brake fluid the less compressible it is. As there is no DOT specification, within the scope of the Polyalkylene Glycol Ether-based fluids there can be a density difference range of over 200% between fluids! Since brake feel is so important to driver confidence and, ultimately, lap times, Torque RT700™ has been successfully formulated to be the highest density brake fluid on the market today.

Didn't you sell me your 95a trans mounts? I don't think they are too harsh but I also changed my engine mounts at the same time so there is a lot of different/new vibrations now.

Probably - I used them for 2 days and swapped them out. I'm using the 80a version full time in conjunction with BW engine mounts.

I dunno, the website is still up and you can buy it from various suppliers.

I pulled the trigger on the Strom Motorsports uprights. Someone backed out on the pre-order so I was able to get in the batch of production due to be finished Jan 15. Looking forward to being able to use the full portion of my tire.
