I don’t really worry about that stuff either. My car has 12 years and 108k miles worth of year round driving in all weather wear and tear on it. This is the first time since the extended warranty expired 7 years ago that anyone other than me has worked on the car, but I did not notice anything. Prior to that, it went to the dealer about 1 time per year. I have done more damage — I scraped it with the snow blower, my dogs have scratched the leather and my wife has dinged the doors.

That explains our slightly different view then....
My car is 10years/49k miles driven around year, while people still think its close to new. Im thinking if it managed that well so far I'll make an effort to keep it so.

Early Morning Italian tune up - just to keep the engine fresh. Taking advantage of empty roads

Installed the Eventuri intake to pair with my plenum. A couple days after I bought the Eventuri intake an opportunity came up to buy a full Karbonius setup. The Karbonius should be arriving tomorrow so I'm anxious to weigh/compare the sound of the two and then decide which to keep

Okay this is important. How does the sound change if at all after the intake and air box cover. It's Black Friday and I need to know!

I was in the same boat as you and curiosity got the best of me. Unfortunately I don't have time to get the car out for a drive today, but I'll follow up first thing tomorrow morning after I've had a chance to shake it down

I did not pick up the air box cover. The value just didn't seem worth it to me.

Based on review and what I read air box doesn't do anything but help weight save... like less than few pounds I def don't think it's worth it for the price

Finally got around replacing the thermostat. Easy job except that freeeaking plenum and the rear hose. Lubed the connection and TBs this time so hopefully easier next time.

Two words: Do it.

Definitely a noticeable difference in noise. The sound from the plenum alone used to get drowned out at higher RPMs but now it's there all the way to redline. The tone also changed a bit - more throaty. Easily worth the cost of admission during a BF sale.

Finally decided to get on the IG game.

link;

@m3_epoustouflant

Lots of you guys know me from M3post and the Facebook groups as the Group Buy Seinsei; Epoustouflant. Finally decided to get on with the program; an instagram account for my M3.

I have been in and out of the automotive industry for 15 years as an importer, distributor, manufacturer and marketer.

The automotive industry is back to being a hobby, however during the lockdowns, I couldn't help it - I started working my network in Europe to find rare parts for my personal M3, and it built into various group buys with over 250 members ultimately participating.

Thanks to all of you for helping me making this happen - it's a lot of work, but incredibly rewarding to see other builds in the community happening with a little bit of my help.

This page will be a place to share my build on it's way to GTS spec, automotive stories, and build upon our common success in group buys to get more suppliers on board looking to reach our enthusiasts group of the best M3 generation ever 😝

Not everyone in the industry is happy about the GBs, at the end of the day, it should be all about us; the owners.

Currently working on more GBs with very special German suppliers, and making the Motorsport24 shipping charges much lower.

Looking forward to seeing you guys build out there!

A special thanks to people I've personally connected with on here Peter Lee Gordon Hui @garrett fennell Winston Talite David Gama Solis Nicolas Lebeau Cossette Fati Guri and a bunch I'm forgetting!

Mounted up the winter wheels and gave the 359s a nice bath. May get them touched up and ceramic coated over the winter. Also stuck on the 15/12mm spacers which I've been sitting on for weeks now.

PLEASE - no one has given us a really good comparison between the sounds of the two full carbon intake/plenum setups on the same vehicle. This forum would certainly benefit from a good before and after video - minimizing variables - of one setup to the next.

^ my 4 yr old could make a better video. If it wasn't for the glorious sound of the s65 I would have been completely pissed for wasting 30 seconds of my time.

...and of course it turned out leaking, ffs. Coolant in the V so assume its one of the connecting pipes. Replaced all 4 o-rings and assumed ones the thermo house is in place the pipes can't move but are all the way in (any one who can confirm this?).
Lubed the rings to avoid damages on their way in. Very strange. I hope lubing the plenum hoses makes it less of a pain. Also hoping I can reuse the current (new) thermostat/sealing. Bummer.

I did the same thing in the weekend. Plenum came out easy, but man, that rear recirculating hose, was a bitch.. my fingers still hurt...

Good job.
