well over the last 2 days when time permits I finally assembled the AMG 6 Piston Caliper project. Fit and finish came out amazing and after bleeding the brakes several times it stops quite nicely. Ill do a review on it in a bit but thought Id share.

For a cost run down, this is what is in the project so far.

AMG 6 piston CLS63 - Ebay $800 shipped. Negotiated price was asking $1000

Centric Seal kit for both sides $83 shipped. I did end up going with Racing Brakes Seal kit for $200 shipped as it was in stock and I needed it right away.

Powder coating $250

Brackets are $580 Winston, forum member

Mercedes Bleed valves are $46 shopped online.

Hawk HPS 5.0 pads $160

Girodisk rotors $900 from KNS Brakes 380mmx32mm

So about $2800 puts you into a Brembo 6 piston BBK with huge 380mm rotors, all rebuilt and brand new!

Enjoy! Killer week of goodies to install.

Use some anti seize on bridge bolts on the stop techs Also likely worth preemptive sanding on the edges of the bridges in the front calipers.

Lastly, don't use Pagid on the fronts without sanding off the edges. Their backing plates overhang and contact the rotor hats as their wear down past 7mm or material

I don't know much about brake bias but know the experts In the field but a lot into r/d for kits they put together for our platform. The amg calipers you are using are for a car that weighs a lot more then an e9x.. any concern for your setup giving to much front brake bias? I'm sure it'll be fine for the street and give you the look but not sure it'll perform well on the track. Throwing out those anchors might give you a wavy back end.. for $2800 I think I'd rather hold out for a proper kit.. they look great though. Again maybe you know more than me, just thinking out loud.

Hey, Im all ears and will give my feed back as I have only about 200 miles on them as of now. Actually all of that today alone driving. I just took the wife up to about 150mph and hammered the brakes down in a sweeping exit ramp and I felt no issues in the back end. It was quite smooth and totally under control.

Im also no track rat but drive very spirited in Mexico. Winston has much more track experience than I and many miles cannon balling though the canyons of California before he released this bracket. This setup has also been available for years though Freaky Parts. I can say as of today that this setup is way superior than the front stock set up and Ill continue to run it and report back as I do. In talking to Winston he is looking at adding the 4 piston rear calipers from the same car to this build. Im sure Mercedes has figured out their bias before building their cars with them.

I finished up a review of everything I went though on this build in the review section. And feel free to reach out to me with questions but I am only able to give you the seat of my pants knowledge on this as I am no expert. I enjoyed the build and like you said, it looks amazing!

The Stoptech St60 6 pistons, Brembo GT 6 piston and this AMG 6 pistons are the same if not in piston diameter, the total volume of 6 pistons. I measured them physically..

Also, the OEM "1 piston" also the same volume as 6 small diameter pistons total.

Just imagine its the same as OEM "1 piston" Caliper but it was divided/spread to 6 smaller pistons, 3 each side.

The brake force on Oem caliper is concentrated only to 1 piston and the OEM small pad is heavily suffering especially during spirited and track driving.

But for 6 pistons, with the same brake force but spread to a more and long pad area, which increases thermal resistance of the pads, also the increase in area on pad contact which increases coef of friction aka STOPPING POWER.

As of now, i don't worry running only the front AMG BBK, as some owners do the same either Stoptech or Brembo GT paired with OEM Rear Caliper, coz i know its still doing same 70% front and 30% rear distribution.. But this doesn't mean i will not change the rear caliper, im brewing 4 pistons rear brembo caliper that uses stock rotor and im on the final RnD'ng phase.

Also, this Front kit brackets is using Stock/OEM 360x30MM front rotors which fit 18in wheels.
So if you want to run your stock rotors just get the calipers, bracket and SS brake lines(optional). Will not cost you more than $1600. I used this set up at the track and spirited canyon run.

Recently, due to requests, another bracket option is made for a stock/OEM rotor from 380x30MM from F80/82 M3/M4 and M2, that fits also with 18 inch wheels and which me and Neil (@vedubin01) used. We just upgraded to Girodisc 2 Pc rotors(from F80/82 M3/M4) for dedicated track use.
