Long day in the saddle planned for today.
Olympia, WA to Yakima, WA to Davis, CA. The scenery on the way to Yakima made me think of the German Alps, so I had to stop and take pic.

Aha it's a delicate balance between driving/enjoying and washing. But dirty or not it looks great!

Did a full detail. Man, been tracking my car for only 2 years and the front end took a beating. Found many tiny chips on bumper, side mirror, windshield and hood. Oh well, nothing much I can do.
Love the satin sheen on the frozen finish ![]() Exterior: Chemical Guy's matte wash, Dr. Beasley's matte paint cleanser, BMW matte sealant and Mother's R3 for tire marks. Interior: all chemical guy's products. Did Leatherique earlier this summer. Wheels: carpro iron X. |

Just drop dead gorgeous scenery, and the roads are twisty with massive elevation changes. The car is made for those highways, it was just an absolute pleasure to be piloting the M3 on this trip. Supercharged V8 singing thru the Akropovic exhaust, that was like a 12 hour symphony! And, oh my god, 97 south from Yakima all the way into California, WOW! What a fun road to travel!

Wow I looked up that track's info and it's so cheap to run at! Does anybody rent cars there? I may try to check it out when visiting family down in Weirsdale over Christmas/New Year.

Super cheap, super fun track. I don't think they rent cars for the track portion but there is a rally course and they do rent rally cars for that - would also be fun as hell. May be worth giving them a call to confirm.

Since the 380mm rotors have such huge hats the backing plates do seem to get the air pointed in the hat, which is what you want. They aren't as centered as I would like them to be but I think it will still be very helpful to have them, and they should still work well.

^ Post of the day in my book.
Yeah, it's a 328 with a M3 (likely rep) bumper and a, uh, custom exhaust (z pipe?). Last edited by jd501; 10-14-2020 at 06:50 PM.. |

I hear the Z pipe design on 328's yield about 40 hp with a tune. Plus the weight savings..
