Everyone always jumps straight to 359s but I always liked the 219 & 260 wheels just as much. The 513s are sharp too.

513M is a great looking wheel but something about them looks out of place to me on the E9x. I think if they had been 19s they'd look like they belong. I prefer 18s myself but the 513M look like a really small 18.

Competition Motorsport out of Austin, a NASA sponsor, carries them. Price starts at $1300/wheel for that GT10 in 18", depending on options. For that price you are within 10% of Forgeline who has the race pedigree. Finspeed is about 15% less than Litespeed for what appears to be equivalent quality.

I would NEVER spend that much money on track wheels - just get some Titan 7, BW TA5R or the forged BW wheels for ~1600-2200$ a SET.
If you have the money to burn then sure, why not. But there's a lot of things I'd rather spend my money on then a set a wheels that costs 2x as much for a wheel that's MAYBE 5% better. Put the money towards track time, coaching, tires or better suspension - something that will actually be worth your money lol. |

They look a whole lot better then most of these expensive Forgeline, Finspeed and Litespeed wheels - but that's also subjective, but I know many would agree as well.

The only wheel I've ever broke was a 3-piece BBS on my old E36 race car. I've used tons of cheap (relative to the wheels we're talking about) flow-formed wheels over the years, on many different cars and had no issues.
Yes these more expensive options are stronger, but they can still bend/break. When we're in the territory of talking about a wheel that costs what a SET of APEX or similar flow formed wheels costs I just don't think it makes sense for track use. If someone has the money to justify a 4-5k set of track wheels then right on. But for most it makes no sense. It's not like bending/breaking wheels is a common occurrence to begin with. You can replace A LOT of bent flow formed wheels and still be way under the price of some of these other wheels we're talking about. And again, the Forgelines and co. can still bend, they are just a bit stronger in comparison. Last edited by tsk94; 10-15-2020 at 04:57 PM.. |

x2 on going with the cheaper forged wheels. I love my forged APEX's and have hit plenty of curbs this season. And their replacement program is an added bonus.

I would guess they are about the same in terms of strength but APEX has a better range of sizes/offsets/finsihes. At least since last time I looked at Titans, they could have added more to their lineup though.
In that price range I think you just pick what you like and offers the fitment you need.

A lot of these cheaper forged wheels are coming out of the same factories, they're just private labeled. Assuming there was someone reasonably competent doing FEA, the strength is probably similar.

I just want to give a quick shoutout to KW in here if anybody is still running Clubsports like I am. Sent mine off to get rebuilt on October 1st and they arrived and were inspected by KW October 8th and I was given a 10-15 business day turnaround time for the rebuild...
Well, I'm happy to report my card got charged on the 12th and they arrived back to me today. Pretty impressive they weren't too backed up to get the rebuild itself knocked out in really only a couple of days. I guess under-promising and over-delivering makes me a happy camper! 12-days total turnaround time including shipping is certainly nice. Only thing I'm not happy about is that they didn't send me a tracking number and my parts just happened to show up at my doorstep. I'm just ready to drive my car again!
