I've been tracking at Gingerman for a number of years but honestly still have a few areas where I suffer. Not that it is *that* important of a turn but I always tend to struggle with 1 (entrance speed much too low), and was actually being a little too reserved at 6 and 9 as well. I was just in shock and awe mostly of how much grip there was. Most of it due to the Pirelli take-offs, but the KWs and (I suspect) the new pavement also played a part. When you go back be sure to get some video and post it up. I actually suspect you will be notably faster with the new pavement. Your existing video served as great inspiration for me prior to going out there. I knew I wouldn't be able to match your time, but it did help out a ton as a point of reference! The difference between street tires(even good ones) and R-compound tires is huge. For example: at WGI the difference in lap times was 7 seconds with the same set up and ambient temp in my case.

You guys are now running bastard fast times at Gingerman! I remember when I was at 1:50 years ago with my 335I, and I was the fastest 335I ever there, and I thought that was a fast time (which it was, for stock brakes, and street tires ) I've always suggested Road America for my fellow mid-western guys, to fully enjoy high speeds. You guys should try it. Or if you want to try another great Alan Wilson track, you can check out Mid-America Motorplex now RPI. I'm planning on doing Gingerman on their last official track day of the year in October. It's a driver's side front tire killer for sure, unless you are running a square set, and can rotate in between sessions. That's all that makes me apprehensive, otherwise a great RW track. I'm going to be doing Mid Ohio this month, a newly expanded Pittsburg track next month, and road america, and maybe gingerman in October. Hope to see you guys out there, and keep it safe

Went out to the SCCA PDX at the Milwaukee Mile. Not the greatest course but well priced and super convenient. I ended up just running my Bridgestone S04 street tires and according to Harry's pulled a 1:22.71 which is about 2 seconds faster than I ever went in my heavily modded Elise on street tires.
I will say I am impressed with the kw clubsports on track ... Which is good because they kind of suck on the street. |

Who else is going to Road America on Oct 3-4 w/ MVP?
First time going to to a "big-balls" track after a dozen or so events at the local club circuit. Will be running in intermediate group, so hope to see some e9x to show me the lines. Got a new set of rotors and pads just for this...

Very nice fast set-up!! What ET are your wheels to fit? I guess no spacers? Do you mind posting your ride height? Looks like no rake.

18"x10.5" ET27, 5mm spacer upfront, no spacers in the rear. Keep in mind I have adjustable length upper camber arms(among others) in the rear so I can play with track width some to tune for tire fitment. The rear is 1/2" lower than the front when measured from the fenders, PM me for more info.
