I am about to make a clutch stop. I recently bought a used UCP and want a slightly bigger and more solid stop since the pedal is metal. I already had an eBay version of the stock style stop with a few extra washers. My first attempt at making one failed. I used a bolt and a large padded washer and spent some time securing the bolt through the bracket the stop mounts to. No room to work behind that bracket. Anyway, I get my masterpiece installed and the car won’t start. I made the stop about 3/8 higher and it must have prevented a clutch switch from activating. So I removed it, went back to my eBay stop and am regrouping. This time, I will drill out the pedal bracket and install a nutsert so I can use a bolt in stop and easily adjust it with stop nuts. Will probably use the “elevator” flanged bolt (think of one of those adjustable table leg feet but all metal) with a stick on table/chair leg pad on top.

I think you will be glad you did it. It's amazing!!

Well, the thing I did:
Cut a piece of fuel injection rubber hose.
Put it around the bolt head (needs to be tight).
Put the Scotch 3M insulating tape (it's thicker than other brands) to cover the hose opening and strenght it a little to receive the pressure of the pedal.
Then, with a cut plier, I cut some layers of the tape and that thin taped part made pressure in the hole of the clutch stopper metal, and that is what is holding the piece in place.

At the first moment, it was too big, and the car wouldn't start. Same problem as yours.

I needed to cut it a little more (twice actually).

Now it is in a way that, to start the engine, I need to put a little more pressure on the pedal, in order to activate the switch.

No problems at gear shifts.

There's an easier way to secure the bolt, I'm posting a picture of it. (not what I did, because I didn't have that bracket)

BTW, if you haven't changed the paddles before, dont listen to those that say you have to take the steering wheel off, it's definitely possible to leave it in place, just be careful removing your airbag connectors.

Replaced my dead low frequency horn. Not sure how a horn goes bad in 8 years, but at least now it doesn't sounds like a clown car anymore.
Easy peasy job BTW - just remove the left front fender liner and there it is, right next to the high frequency horn.

did some refreshing of the brakes over the past few days. I installed new rotors, Hawk HPS pads, and flushed the lines with Motul 600 fluid. The power bleeder sure makes the job of flushing brakes a breeze!
