Well my car is at the dealership after developing a strange clunk from the transmission. Nothing serious, but it's been happening between shifts (as the weight transfers) and also if I'm stationary and going from 1 to R or vice-versa. I suspect it's a U-joint but it could also be the giubo.
Took it in Monday morning and the service advisor tells me, "well I don't know when the transmission guy will get to it." They won't even have a Corvette master tech try and diagnose it, dispatch just automatically assigns it to the "transmission guy". Also, he wouldn't give me a loaner and just suggested I walk everywhere until further notice. Had to go to the service manager and tell him this was completely ridiculous: can't even estimate when you'll diagnose it, no service loaner, and the car has to stay on your lot -- I can't bring it by when you're ready. That's right, they just park it out back until whenever. He eventually conceded and got me a service loaner and said there's five more cars in front of mine, but wouldn't budge on letting me hang onto the car until they were ready. Texted my advisor today to see what the update was, all he could say was, "now there's only four cars ahead of you, maybe we can get to it in a week but no promises." What an absolute joke. I've already escalated it to corporate Customer Care and said this lack of transparency and inflexibility is not acceptable, let alone for their halo car that costs over $75k. They just expect people to have a car kept hostage with no ETA? And a dealer can just tell you to talk everywhere? How about you learn to schedule appointments better, or you hire more technicians. Massive blemish on an otherwise good ownership experience. Really ticked and I suspect I will miss the next NASA event.

not chunky but you sound THICC
6'3" 230lb ... is the e92 seat and seating position comfortable for you? the seat sits high + if you have to wear a helmet, you're probably hitting the roof

I'm comfortable when I'm not wearing a helmet, because it does touch the A pillar. If I slide and hit a wall laterally, my head is getting ripped off for sure.

I’d Swiss cheese your upper body. Lop 18 lbs of useless material off above your shoulders too. All high cg mass so it’s super helpful.

6'2" 265lbs here, when I'd track the car with stock seats, my head would be constantly jammed against the roof. Now my car has race buckets and headliner removed, I have like 3" between the top of my helmet and the roof. It's so nice

Does anyone know how the M2C does on track? Are they able to run for 30 minutes without the motor cutting power? I know the Supras can struggle and start slowing down.
Are they pretty much ready to go from the factory or do they need stuff like camber plates, better brakes, bigger tires, coilovers, larger coolers, etc? The brakes look very substantial since they took the 6-pot CCM caliper and just jammed it on the standard iron rotors.

Such as? I'm asking if anyone has experience with that car on track and what the common problems are.

Anyone else keeping the DCT felt cover off?
I'm assuming the shop didn't want to put it back on because it would be touching the pan, but less restricted cooling should be nice. And they removed the charge for the inspection after realizing I caught on to what they were trying to pull. |

Don't mind the large stack of random decals, had to run them for the event and took them off right after haha

As was already said all BMWs seem to need something. Definitely pads and fluid as always (unless you are new or really taking it easy). The stock calipers will work fine. Eventually you will melt the dust sheilds out of them and the color will change due to the heat. I went with APs to solve those issues and allow me to run 18" wheels (you have to stick with 19's with stock front brakes). Will also need camber plates if you want even wear on your tires. Other than those its ready to go. You certainly can do additional add on's like coilovers, bigger tires and such. As said, cooling upgrades are not necessary. |

Thanks. I don't really consider pads and fluids a big deal. Alignment is a given, and camber plates are a common solution across many cars (even Mustangs and Camaros). Even my OEM Brembos have melted the dust boots and started to discolor from heat. No big deal. I have heard the Supras start to struggle in the heat and cut power. My race shop's owner has one and said his lap times slowly fall off after the first few laps, which means he's gotta send it right away in the TT sessions.

I don't think piston heads are supposed to look like this.
