I asked for a video to steal some ideas from you.
How do you approach madness? Are you to the left going up the hill or are you mid-track? I have been playing with different lines there but really struggling. I find that if I trail brake and early apex the right hander after the back straight, I can be hard on the gas all the way to the top of the hill, but then I have to really kill my exist speed on the way out if I am to set myself up for the next turn. Similarly, coming down the hill on the backside of madness, do you get all the way to the left asap or do you stay mid-track for the upcoming right hander? I feel I am losing a lot of time there. |

I just got done running One Lap of America, so I have a lot of lap times to add. All with the same car setup over a 1 week period.
Car: 2011 E92 M3 DCT Suspension: KW Clubsports, Eibach FSB Brakes: StopTech ST-40 Fronts, StopTech Street Pads Front/Rear Mods: Challenge Sport Xpipe w/ HFCs, Ti Exhaust, AA Pulley, MS Intake, BPM Tune, Mode Carbon GTS V2 Lip, Zebulon Wing, Recaro Race Seats, no back seats Power: 352 whp (SAE corrected on a dynojet) Tires: 285/30/18 Dunlop ZII* on ARC8 18x10.5 Front/Rear Weight: 3450 lbs w/ driver Track: Mid America Motorplex (MAM) Best Lap Time:1:39.978 (me driving, co-driver had drying conditions in the morning) Video: Track: High Plains Raceway (HPR) Best Lap Time:1:59.417 (me driving, co-driver had drying conditions in the morning, traqmate data shows near identical mid corner speeds from my dead hoosiers I previously ran. I botched T10 in all 3 laps, min speeds 5+ mph low from where they could be, or else I think I would have had a mid 58) Video: No video, battery died Track: Pueblo Motorsports Park (PMP) Best Time: Modified this event due to massive down pour, so lap times are not consistent for the track. Track: Motorsports Ranch Cresson 1.3 Mile (MSR) Best Lap Time:1:06.435 (me driving) Video: Track: Motorsports Ranch Cresson 1.7 Mile (MSR) Best Lap Time:1:23.002 (me driving) Video: Track: Motorsports Ranch Cresson 3.1 Mile (MSR) Best Lap Time: 2:27.839 (me driving. Should have been much faster but I went off track on the crossover between the long and short course on my first lap. I thought the transition was wide open and it's pretty tight. This broke my front lip off the car and packed the grill full of grass, so the car was pushy at high speed and went into limp mode because it got so hot). Video: Track: Hallett Motor Raceway Circuit Best Lap Time:1:26.453 (me driving, co-driver had a dirty track first thing in the morning) Video: Track: National Corvette Museum Full Course (NCM) Best Lap Time: 2:18.8 (co-driver) Video: |

No mods power, the car is pretty much stock (brake pads and tires, that's about it). Not sure when I'll be able to go back to the Glen, probably not until next season. |

Track/Course: NCM Motorsports Park
Best Lap Time: 2:25.10 Brakes: StopTech BBK ST-60/40; Pagid RS29 Tires (Size & Model): BFG R1, 265/35/18 square; Apex Arc 8 Suspension: GC camber plates, 2.6F/2.1R; Stock struts & springs Other Mods: stock HPDE at National Corvette Museum Motorsports Park with Bluegrass BMWCCA. Never driven the track before. Running in the Advanced group with an instructor, this was my very first dry session. Saturday was essentially a washout from the storms, only ran 2 sessions in the pouring rain, no traction even on street tires. Got in a dry session on Sunday morning, this last lap was 2:28 despite overcooking the hairpin, getting completely lost in the Sinkhole, and slowing down for the checkered flag at the end! Best lap from the second session was 2:25.10 but Harry's farted and gave me no video. Still felt like I left a lot of time on the table, can't wait to try it again this fall. Fun track.

I was running 275s in the NT-01s but R1s seem to have a larger section width. Side by side, the 265 R1 was the same width as the Nitto 275. I was wearing a hole in my front fender liners already and didn't want to go any wider.

Noobie status here:
6MT / KW CS 2-way / Carbotech XP10 all around / RS-3 / Most important: DSC OFF Autoclub Speedway (ACS) 1:54.9 Buttonwillow #13CW 2:01:03 I need two more seconds at each track with the same setup. XP10s are pretty weak, much less stopping power than I had with XP12 in the front. So I'm telling myself that I am getting better - getting better times, with less braking. Can't wait to see what happens when I slap XP12 back on. Probably nothing. |

Hey I actually have something to contribute here
Gateway Motorsports Park, outside St. Louis, MO 1.65 mile roval 08 E90 6speed 18x10's with 275 and 285 hankook RS3 Stoptech trophy 355 front kit with street pads, stock rear pads (this was a spur of the moment thing, was not ideal at all and faded the shit out of the pads if I used them to their potential for more than a couple laps and was braking 25+ yards early on the front straight for my quickest laps) Stock power other than tune (good for 132mph on the logger) MCS double remotes, stock springs, RD Sport front bar (basically a stock class autocross suspension) 1:11.22 I'm just happy I beat my Spec Miata lap record by a healthy margin after all the shit I've talked on here, lol |
