Okay perfect thank you! I saw a spot called united auto collisions and they have a lot of bmws there in case anyone needed to check them out. They seem very professional

Anyone ever been to German Motor Specialist in Mountain View? I read some reviews about them on Facebook and Yelp but not sure if anyone here has had any experience with them. Thanks!

Looks like a few shops on the list have moved or gone out of business. Looking to have my rod bearings replaced 😅 and would appreciate some recommended shops. I've contacted Performance Technic. Edge Motorworks in Dublin appears to be under new ownership. Sonic MS appears to be closed.

Anybody have a recommendation for a shop to get suspension done and brakes swapped? Need to remove some JRZs and brakes and return to stock? Just moved here from out of state so fish out of water at the moment.
Thanks! |

Anybody have recent tint recommendations? I used to go to King Tint but attention to detail of late has been down.
Similarly - any individual installers or shops for a paint correction/ceramic coating? Seems like a lot in LA but not as many in the bay area. |

For paint correction, ceramic, high end detailing hit up Bay Area Detail. It's a guy I went to college with that just loves detailing. And he's good. Barret Jackson flys him out to vegas or arizona or wherever they do their auctions every year to detail all the cars. He's not the cheapest but he personally does every car that comes in to his shop, and he's always doing hella high end cars (aka his garage in Burlingame). insta is @bayareadetail to schedule. He's a huge BMW fanboy too so that's a plus. On a more general note - How updated is the original post list? I don't see many shops on that original list in the Oakland, Walnut Creek, Martinez areas. Anyone know a good one? Ideally one that is BMW specific enough to where they do rod bearings and beyond regularly.

For maintenance work and modifications, I'd like to recommend BR Racing in Los Gatos. Not exactly unheard of, but they're not on the list so I figured I'd throw their name out there. Bruce, Scott and Robb all have an impressive knowledge of all things cars and are more than willing to guide you in the right direction, and in the rare case a solution does not exist, they will make one.
Also, on a completely different note, theres a few shops listed, but what do people recommend as the best PPF installer in the bay? Going to take my car to Taylor at Bay Area Detail and I'm looking to have the whole car protected after. |

Any suggestions North of SF in Marin county area? Looking for a shop for general maintenance / some light performance work. Seems most of the go to's are out somewhere between Oakland and Fremont

Got a few shops I’d put out there that have worked on my car in the past month:
Palladium Auto Body in Hayward fixed my delaminating carbon fiber roof - they’ve done several of these and it is WAY less expensive than replacing the roof and looks fantastic German Auto Care in Danville did my rod bearings - the owner and the chief mechanic are both BMW-certified and they’ve done many M3 and M5 rod bearings |
