Car: 2011 E92 M3 DTC
Track/Course: High Plains Raceway (HPR) Best Lap Time: 1:58.95 Brake Pads: StopTech ST-40 w/ StopTech Street Pads Front / OEM Pads Rear Tires: Hoosier A6 275/35/18 on Apex ARC8 18x10 Suspension: KW Clubsports, Eibach FSB Other Mods: Challenge Sport Xpipe, Ti Exhaust, AA Pulley, MS Intake, BPM Tune, Zebulon wing These tires came off my RX7 from last season, and were dead; my minimum speeds were just slightly higher than my S2000 on RS3. The track was pretty dirty this session and compromised my line. Still lots of fun to drive! Last edited by Melchior; 04-21-2015 at 08:30 PM.. |

That was my first time on track with the Stoptech streets. My rear pads didn't get here in time so I just went with OEM back there. The Stoptech pads had just a little more overall bite than the OEM rears, but initial bite was slightly less than OEM. They held on for 20 min sessions without fade (although ambient temps were 35-40F). I've bled the front calipers several times and these pads just feel a little mushy. Overall I'd recommend them as a good dual purpose pad. |

I was only there on Friday. My time isn't bad considering the fact that I clocked that guy with the brand new 5.0 mustang at a constant 2:46, on street tires like me. The GTR's and that caged Porche were at 2:29 w/ r comps. I wasn't too concerned about time, as learning and good sportsmanship was stressed at the driver's meeting. I was the only E9X M3 there, and all the other BMWs were older E36's that were caged out on r comps.

Yes, that was the last session of the day and I got black-flagged for being in the wrong run group which is why I pitted (I run intermediate with 10/10ths, advanced with BMWCCA/PCA depending on the group). I usually skip the last session of the day due to fatigue, but I had a friend who had never been to the track before that wanted a ride so I went out, and I couldn't figure out why I was getting stuck behind people (like that Camaro). Then I got black flagged just before this lap in the video started and when I came off the track they told me I had gone out in the novice group by accident due to the schedule mixup. For the last session of the day they were doing open-lapping for any group with intermediate passing rules, but the schedule was missing 30 minutes and the PA system was very quiet, so I wound up getting confused about the time and went out too early. Oops! BTW, I notice you have a Wavetrac LSD in your 335i....this was the track that finally convinced me to order one for the X1. The super tight 2nd gear (for me) left hander and the WOT over blind corners were seriously pissing off the "fake" OEM diff. How do you like it? I was debating between this and an OS Giken but ended up going with the Wavetrac. Last edited by Jon@NL; 04-25-2015 at 05:15 PM.. |

Wavetrac is solid. It's a locking torsen diff, so you get the best of both worlds.

Not sure what the deal with the Porsche is but you can look here and clearly see based on window stickers that I was in intermediate and the other cars on the track in that run are novice http://www.abi-photo.com/f737583194 (or just look on the 10/10ths event roster). Quote:

That is sick. Would love to see a video. Incredible time from a streetable luxury car, especially with barely any modifications. Anything below 1:40 is really moving!
